The previous owner had a 500 plus pound giant bluefin tuna on this boat, he used to run 55 miles to BB by himself.

Welcome to CSC Spirit.
Nice Looking SeaCraft Stan! I have not seen the boat around the waterways here in Stuart  Maybe we can touch base in person some day.

I can't see any hinges or the like. Is the motor serviced via the 4 hatches around the console? How about the gauges, electronics and the switches. How do you get to them?

spirit 08-19-2010 07:27 PM

Re: Inboard diesel 1974 23' seacraft potter hull

The hinges are in the front of the center console, the hatches are are only for simple access to check oil and flid levels.

Please feel free to call me anytime, the boat has been in storage more than on the water, I live on poppleton creek in Stuart.

what's up with the cleats on the base of the console? Near your feet and ankles.

probably used as handles to lift the console to get to the inboard engine

spirit 08-22-2010 08:31 AM

Re: Inboard diesel 1974 23' seacraft potter hull

Yes I use them to pull up the console up and use a rope to tie it to the t top. It has never been a problem for my ankles , but it could be replaced by pop up cleats.

Re: Inboard diesel 1974 23' seacraft potter hull

I did not mention that I would be interested in a trade for larger boat with twin four strokes even with me paying additional money. I am also willing to pay finder's fee to anyone who can help to sell my boat. Thanks.

Re: Inboard diesel 1974 23' seacraft potter hull

Because I would like to replace the T Top on my inboard I look closely at the way others are mounted. It appears the angled bars disconnect from the uprights. I like that, are they pinned? How do the bars attaching to the sides disconnect? Do they and the console have to be unbolted?

The boat is beautiful, too bad I don't need another one.

Re: Inboard diesel 1974 23' seacraft potter hull

yes the sides have two large screws on each side and than
the front cross brace in the front is also attached with two screws and the base of the console is screwed to the floor about 6 places. The center consol is making the ttop stable. Remember when you have outriggers out ,it puts lot of stres on the whole thing. There are lot of manufactures that will not guarantee the t top when you use outriggers.
That is why I have lot of access hatches to get to the engine without lifting the console.
This console is very heavy that it takes quite an effort to lift it. But that is what you want, not some light junk.

As I mentioned before I am selling my boat because I would like to get a larger/longer center console with twins to runn to Bahamas. So if anybody is interested to trade, please let me know what you have. I know the market is tuff so if anyone can help to sell my boat I am willing to pay the finder's fee if sold.

I was hoping that inboard diesel Potter hull with low fuel consuption would be in demand especially since the boat fuel is up to $5.00/gal and higher. The boat is still for sale. I am looking for any resonable offers. I have found my pictures showing the floor up exposing the fuel tanks and the rest and I can send those by email if interested.
please do not send emails, I would rather that you call me on my cell 772-631 9742.Regards Stan

Stan, gonna take some patience in this market. Check in with Long Ashes in for sale section. I just bumped his ad next to yours. He's in St Pete. You guys could have a good fit. He's got a sweet looking 27 and mentioned he's looking for a more trailer-able rig. I think you're both running Yanmars so there is probably some benefit in familiarity...If you guys make a deal don't forget to send the finders fee :D Good luck. That's a great looking tuna rig. I'm sure you'll be fine getting a buyer just a little slow right now.

Re: Inboard diesel 1974 23' seacraft potter hull

It would sell in a minute if it was on Cape Cod. I have people on other sites asking me if I would sell them mine and I just bought it in November. I have told alot of people from the Cape Cod area about this boat but they must not be willing to travel. Stick with it an be patient. Good boats sell themselves.

If you know of any people from the Cape i would be willing to pay for the airfare and I could even deliver the boat.
Give me a call. 772-631 9742

If you deliver it up her to be sold, I'll make sure she doesn't get dusty for you. :)

If I didn't already have a 23 inboard I would have flown down to see that boat the day you posted here and on THT. I re-did mine and put in a new 350 a few years back. I just couldn't justify the price of a new diesel at the time.

I just put in 2 new diesel's in a 32 Blackfin, so I may end up parting with my 23 at some point too. Hopefully not though. I'll keep the word out on yout boat.

The previous ownwer of my boat was asking $12,500. I got pretty beat up selling my boat and offered him $10,000 and he accepted. Again, mine only has a 350 in it but that was put in by the previous owner and cost him $10,000. I'll keep an eye out up here for you.

He has a 'skiing' problem, and has lost most of his business, clients, tools, shop etc. He was a hard worker for sure!

Re: Inboard diesel 1974 23' seacraft potter hull

I want to sell my boat, I wanted to trade up for bigger boat with four strokes , but I am back to diesel power boats only and I want a larger boat with diesel power that can be moved by trailer to get to fishing grounds in the US quickly. I just spent a day of fishing on 34' sea vee diesel. We traveled about 180 miles in one day in crapy seas. I can not imagine what it would cost with gas engines.
If there is anybody to downsize ,please let me know. The boat is for cash sale as well and I am looking for offers
