Re: Tom's 23' Diesel Inboard Seacraft \"RECURVE\"
Tom,
Beautiful. How did you lay the teak deck? Over original glass? Epoxied? Boat Life? Screwed and plugged or the no screw West System method? Thanks for your reply. Michael |
Re: Tom's 23' Diesel Inboard Seacraft \"RECURVE\"

Re: Tom's 23' Diesel Inboard Seacraft \"RECURVE\"
I used Teak Decking Systems Epoxy and seam caulk. I removed any soft core from the old deck, epoxied Joubert Marine Okume
13 layer Plywood then covered with 1708 and or 1808 biaxial glass with epoxy then glued the teak down with the Teak Decking systems epoxy, no screws, concrete blocks and buckets of water for clamps, worked like a dream. The teak was glued together 3 strips wide per segment and layed down as segments. The outside border pieces are strip laminated and were bent and glued around a form same as the rub rail. Feel free to call me at any time for anything about the boat 508-627-8941 |
Re: Tom's 23' Diesel Inboard Seacraft \"RECURVE\"
Hard top came from J&J Marine Fabricating in Somerset Mass
Jeff Botello is a good friend of mine.Anything I needed in Stainless they made for me or Stainless Marine in Florida did. |

Re: Tom's 23' Diesel Inboard Seacraft \"RECURVE\"
Beautiful!!!!!
Now can you post some stats? What does the boat (or should I say artwork) weigh? How about fuel economy? Cruise and top end? |
Re: Tom's 23' Diesel Inboard Seacraft \"RECURVE\"
Beautiful deck. Beautiful boat. Beautiful fuel economy I'm sure too. Keep a bottle of laundry detergent for diesel staining. Keep a wet deck fishing & fueling. Sharpening hooks is now a bigger nono. Nothing beats a teak deck for nonskid.

Re: Tom's 23' Diesel Inboard Seacraft \"RECURVE\"
So I should plan on more than one evening- right? I have done teak over marine ply In Boat life and wanted to kill myself. West also has a brochure showing teak to epoxy to original glass with screws and washers between seams till cured and then caulking with West and black filler. Can be very light weight. Thinking of this for my 20 instead of deck replacement. With the price of teak it may be mahog.
