Re: cheap project

I don't really understand why since that's how you get more SC's on the water. There are tons of cheap as dirt SC's out there. I can understand if ya think someone is trying to avoid a listing fee, but who doesn't appreciate a heads up. I for one spot all kinds of different good deals on different boats and can't search all the different areas of the country. Just my opinion and I'm glad to be a guest on CSC.

Workin, consider this.
Bottom Line----> The CL or eBay Listings are free. There is a $25 charge to advertise on CSC which helps keep the site running. It is not fair to the forum members who have paid for their listing to advertise their SeaCraft on CSC by posting someone else's free ad. Most of the forum members have contributed to this site with their knowledge and helpful posts. The others have not. A SeaCraft changing ownership does not get more SeaCrafts on water and does not enter the picture when it comes to the rules of this forum (PERIOD)

Well said Chuck.

I love the plywood over the I/O cutout. Perhaps a super cheap attempt at an OB conversion?

Re: cheap project

I understand what you are saying. Take the boat I found, it would have rotted away in the woods. Someone else in South jersey could easily of posted seeing the boat and some other guy on here could have grabbed it. Seems like a site dedicated to these old boats would like to know of boats in other areas. Am I nuts in my thinking? Again, just my opinion and I'm glad to be a guest on CSC.

OK,
Having been a member for a long time and making dumb
mistakes along the way..... Even when I posted just
two weeks ago a "FREE" 1977 23 Secptre the $25 was sent
to Trayder!!! No where else did I post this freebie.
If I were looking for a SeaCraft, CSC would be the first place to go to........
Just my 2¢'s worth.

Happy New Year, Ken

Re: cheap project

I would not want a boat in Fla. without a title anyway... I am a real estate atty and have battled getting a title a couple of times both personally and professionally....not fun. the rules of the forum make sense to me....main thing is money to keep this kick butt site going and maintaining fairness to those who contribute to this site. anyway, happy new year to everyone!!

Re: cheap project

workinprogress i get youre point but also it must cost a couple bucks to keep CSC running, too!

Re: cheap project

Yeah but I saw a 15' Scamp on... nevermind. I'll just keep my eyes peeled and keep it to myself. I love this site most ya guys seem great so whatever is expected of me as a guest I'll do. That said it seems like there are many more CSC/SC's in the market that have no affiliation with CSC.

Re: cheap project

If you want, you can kick in a few bucks via PayPal without listing a boat for sale, right, Jason? :D

Re: cheap project

I would if I had a boat to sell but not to pass on a good find. But thanks. So I will abide by the rules and pretend they don't exist.

Rest assured, when the elusive Scamp ends up in my
possession, IT WILL NOT BE HERE FOR SALE!!!!!!

See ya, Ken

I think he has gone underground. Sounded like he wants to pop a mold. I pm`d him early on and he never responded. He must come on here sometimes. Curiosity no?

Re: cheap project

Are we still talkin about this? Bottom line, pay the fees to list a boat, as per the forum rules, or pay to simply access the site. your choice. its safe to assume everyone here has internet access, so anyone here can search every region in their state and beond in minutes using craigslist.

Re: cheap project

Sorry to disagree with the board, however posting Cl or other sites SeaCraft could only make this site more valuable! If you consider that most buyers will subsequently come to this site for guidance and tech help in addition to buying items like stickers, shirts, hats etc so sharing an ad may yeild more $$ to the site then not sharing an ad. Best of luck in whatever is the rule.
