Hey Terry I'm just downsizing while building my Financial Advising Business on Anna Maria Island. I hate to let her go, but I don't have time to do all the things I wanted to do on her. I plan on looking into a 18 or 20 like I used to have to keep it simple for the next year or 2.

I am supposed to pick up a 23' this weekend and this listing makes me think I am overpaying. $5500? Wow

When was the bracket put on and has the transom been done or is it the original.

Your not over paying, more than likely.

The bracket has been on for around 8 years. The transom is original. It only had an outdrive and NOT an outboard putting pressure on the transom from 79 to 2002. When the hole was filled in the transom there were no knees glassed in. The transom is due for a rebuild. The steering arms need replacing - heavy labor job. I have some interested parties, but no one has put down the deposit as of tonight.......

duck youre not overpaying, you never see 23ccs at these prices unless they are mostly apart. If youre talking about the 23 in Wilmington that looks like a nice deal

I seriously though this was a misprint . . . 15,500 You will never see a deal like this again on a 23. In the 10 years I have been following seacraft's I have never seen a 23CC with power priced this low.

Ryan is correct, the boat needs work. "Mostly apart" usually does apply. This boat is not apart, but it does need a transom and steering arms to start. This is a great 23SF that only 5 or 6 boats were built like. Look it up. If you are new to this site, you may need to read some old posts so that you are not blindly going into buying a SC that is 32 years old and needs work. There has been more than 1 guy on this site that thought he was buying a 2005 Tracker SeaCraft when he bought his low cost classic :o :o :D :D

how fast does she run with the twins, and i am sure you have to keep the plugs in when you are at rest fishing?

Hey Danny-

I sold my 23 a few years ago with mixed emotions as well...sometimes you just do what you feel is right at the time. There's lots of boats out there. Maybe the next one you get will have that diesel you were looking for. Good luck with everything.

Thanks Strick. I agree with you on the fact that there are plenty of boats out there. My oldest son is almost 13 (he was 4 when I joined CSC) I only have a few years to get my kids totally hooked on boating.

The boat has been up to 60. The motors were at around 5400-5500rpm. There is no water on the deck by the scuppers at rest or when I am out. I don't recall water back there ever.

Danny,
Don`t you think the price is about 3k too low even in this market? You always had a soft spot for the 18`s and the squids could enjoy it.

Would you like us to keep an eye out?

Cheers,
Sandy

Yes, that is very true Denny. I'm ready to get back in the saddle for our Gatherings and bring the kids along on our camping trips.
Sandy-Yep I have a low price on this boat. Even if it was apart the motors are 3-4K min., hull and trailer is 3-4k plus the bracket and jack plates are at least another grand. The boat deserves the work I can't do right now. Also, thanks for keeping a look out for any 18's or 20's that appear useable.

Danny, remember my post from a couple of years ago about the Keys and my juvenile delinquents at the time...
Torture them NOW... Sooo when they grow up, they say,
Gee Dad, the Keys were GREAT can we go with you now!!!!

Keep in mind they are now 33, 29, & 27 years old!!

Each and everyone of them and their significant others all
enjoy the boating, fishing & diving life style.......
I'm closer with my son-in-law then he was ever with his
dad.. To bad he was a golfing slug!
Priceless from my stand point.

See ya, Ken

This is a classic example of a good quality boat selling at a great price. It lasted less than 6 days on the board. Just like the car dealers say on TV---"Price sells"

I saw someone put up a deposit back in February. Is this one gone to a new home? Thank you. Looking for a nice 23 ft SC CC that is in good condition like this one and that I can bring further up to date or one in great condition that's been done right. patricktruluck@gmail.com cell:704-698-5567

This was sold in 5 days because of the basic pieces of the sale. It may have been worth more, but the price was fair considering the cost of required repairs and improvements. It was not in good condition, but showed well. A 23SF with a desireable power choice with all the pieces that come with it in truly average condition starts around 9-12K.

Re: 1979 23 SF SeaCraft- Potter hull w/trailer

Yep---It's residing on the shores of Lake Erie...er..shore of Lake Erie. So far, Ive got the transom recored and the large hatch over the tanks recored---tanks boiled out and tested--Holes plugged up in the center consule---the casting platform core is removed and waiting for new balsa core---got the plywood for the new decks yesterday---started to make a new aluminum t-top 80x112"---it looks too big ---i'll cut it down some. Im still debating whether to save the trough along each side. Looks like i'll be fishing out of the sportcraft for the duration of the summer.

Mike- ditch that floor trough on the sides if you need to, IMHO.

Re: 1979 23 SF SeaCraft- Potter hull w/trailer

Hi Danny---I just thought it would be nice if the deck wash had a place to go---my intentions were to raise the floor 1-1/2" and saw the gutter out and attach it to the new floor---I was weighing the benefit vs the extra labor. I just remember the '79 that i fished out of before.
