Thanks for the picture Ken. Yep pretty similar boat. Being on the water is the priority. Looking forward to some serious fishing coming up. How's the Jungle Rehab Center??

The boat is an 88 with a mint 96 130 Yamaha. The weight / balance of the boat is impressive with that light motor and solid power of the V-4. |

Re: First Trip to Eggmont Key
what pitch prop are you running and what is your top speed. i have a 19 right now but i want a 17 i think cause my boat is a dog out of the whole and i am only gettin 40.2 mph which is not bad i guess but i think a 17 will preform way better whats your opinoin

Re: First Trip to Eggmont Key
Nice looking ride. What year? I'm guessing a late 88 or most likely a 89. I'm pretty sure I have the 17. It's the original black painted
over stainless prop. It gets up quick and tops at around 38. It planes at about 12 mph, which is hard to do these days with brackets and heavy motors. |
Re: First Trip to Eggmont Key
its a 1989 and i got it about 6 months ago i love it . cheap on gas and rides great for a 18 foot boat couldnt ask for a better boat. its all mint condition with like 360 somethin hours. i want a 150 yam but i love the 130 cause its so cheap on gas and has no hours on it and runs better than any new cheaply built over priced motor hahaha

Re: First Trip to Eggmont Key
It's all a trade off on power. The 130 is perfect for the 18. It's my 2nd 18 with a yamaha 130. I have family with an 18 with a 140Suzuki and used to have a 150 Johnson. The Tracker 18SF's are built well and are not as stern heavy as the 80-87 hulls. All are good boats.

Re: First Trip to Eggmont Key
ya i love mine i never get water in the back when drifting and that was my biggest fear befor i got the boat i really wanted a 20 but honestly i like how the 18sf are set up.i had it 19 miles off shore saturday just me and my giflfriend and felt compleatly safe its the biggest 18 you can get i think im way happy with it. i have also seen 2 exact boats so far at the ramp and they love them too. got to love a sea craft

Slacker clean up aisle 12. Oh ,sorry Danny, you are one. The 130 is perfect for that boat. It`s all about the ride. :D Cheers, GFS |

Danny next time out there, checkout the inside North, next to the pilings about a 1/4m south of the North tip - great bar to hang out on and no surf. |
Re: First Trip to Eggmont Key
Too much Acetone from the De-Slackerization process. It causes permanent damage.
Are you bringing the 18 over? Any performance numbers yet? |
Re: First Trip to Eggmont Key
Sandy- yes, I plan on bringing the 18. I have to get rid of the rollers on the front of the trailer and put bunks in their place. I just ran a full tank from the prior owner. So the #'s will be coming, The boat runs well.

Re: First Trip to Eggmont Key
Great PIC's. I have not been there since last summer.

Re: First Trip to Eggmont Key
what rpm s are you running at wide open throttle ? i have never seen over 5000rpms with my 130 yamaha with a 19 prop. i have been reading these motors run 5700 but that seems high for a 1989 130 ??? anyone got any specs on this motor? thanks
|
Re: First Trip to Eggmont Key
The best I got was 5400 with a 19 prop on my old 130. My current motor is not hitting above 5300. My thought is that after 21 years, the stator and/or the coils need to be checked for you and mine which is a 1996.
