So I'm Picking up this boat for the engine and want to know the value of the boat for resale I'm not trying to make a killing but want a fair price I haven't Physically checked it out this isa premature assumption but what I'm told the boat is very solid and clean will not be selling it with a engine but will have a trailer included
the outdrive thats on it is a low hour diesel x drive bravo and a new transom assembly
So be honest with out seing it what do you think?

Mikem8560 01-22-2012 05:10 PM

Was I supposed to get a Yanmar 315 diesel out of the deal too? If so, please send it UPS!

LOL!

heynow2203 01-22-2012 10:02 PM

im asking of its value of a hull nothing else

77SceptreOB 01-22-2012 10:07 PM

Hull $2000
Tower $1500
Outdrive $500
Trailer $1000

Total Rig = $4,500 - 5,000

FishStretcher 01-22-2012 11:17 PM

There is a 23 CC with a bracket and trailer on the cape - just a hull, no rigging- and it isn't isn't moving at $5k asking price. I don't know the relative value of a CC versus Sceptre, but that's a data point.

heynow2203 01-23-2012 08:17 AM

Thx for the value my only ? With those numbers is the outdrive 500 that's what the old alpha drives go for not a low hour bravo diesel x drive but I might be wrong oh its a 2004

This boat is completly rigged just no engine
what do you think it would sell for with a 350 in it?

bigeasy1 01-23-2012 12:17 PM

I paid $1,000 for my 1974 Tsunami 23' and trailer, and it needed a total restore. All the core was rotted, transom was toast, outdrive was no good, and the 351 ford engine was shot.
I thought it was a bargain at that,as the trailer was in great shape.

Your hull is certainly much nicer, and worth more.I wouldn't give it away too cheap.I think 2 grand is on the low side, even for the hull only.
The cuddy models & especially I/O's like the sceptres/Tsunamis are worth more up north on places like the great lakes.

Maybe Floorboy will make another road trip.C'mon Rod, Minnesota to florida it's not that! bad.

floorboy 01-23-2012 03:50 PM

I know a couple of guys that would be all over that top if he would split it. Would be nice to have a spare sceptre too............ :(

Wildman 02-04-2012 09:09 PM

GMac7 02-06-2012 11:46 AM

Boat looks really nice with the new windshield. Any idea what a repower would cost? Also, do a lot things need changing if you went from diesel to gas? Just curious, what are you asking for the hull and trailer?

heynow2203 02-07-2012 06:25 PM

GMac7 02-08-2012 10:58 AM

Congrats, what did you end up getting for it?

Blackfin26 02-08-2012 10:58 AM

I bought the Sceptre from Phil a few days ago. The boat's going to stay on Cape Cod and get a bracket and probably single engine. I'd like to have the safety of twins but think the weight may be too much...Any opinions? I'll post pics along the way!!

Entourage 02-08-2012 11:17 AM

Damn never got to see it, and the pats lost what else can go wrong. Lmao......

Blackfin,

You working on a fleet? ....oh boy :)

Entourage 02-08-2012 03:50 PM

No that was suppose to be for my brother. He had to have surgery on Monday so we couldn't look at it. We were going to go Sunday but we saved that for the pats. Needless to say we should have went Sunday. Oh well if its going to someone on here I'm sir its going to a good home. Next time.

Blackfin26 02-08-2012 06:04 PM

Hi Guys, No fleet of Seacrafts at this house. Just this one and a Hiliner 222 to sell! It will be appreciated and well taken care of and kept at my house in Brewster, Ma.
thehermit, The 23te had just a few issues last season...Tracker bought it back from me! Email me for more details: sboskus@comcast.net

heynow2203 02-08-2012 10:39 PM

Sry bout that Entourage you never know I might come across another one lol
I hope I don't buy another boat any time soon need to finish the inboard

tunacious 02-09-2012 08:18 PM

Blackfin, I have twin Suzuki Df140's on my Sceptre . They are pretty light 4 strokes and my floor is dry unless I walk to the transom corners. If you get a floatation bracket, it should be a killer rig .

Blackfin26 02-09-2012 09:09 PM

Tunacious, Thanks for the info...What are your performance numbers with the 140's? I'd love to have the twin 175 Suzukis but am afraid of the weight. I was also planing to raise the floor 2-3 inches. Steve

thehermit 02-09-2012 09:47 PM

Steve,

did you get rid of the SF25? Congrats on the purchase!

Islandtrader 02-10-2012 09:12 AM

Just curious is that a new windshield frame? It does not look like the original?

Blackfin26 02-10-2012 12:27 PM

I'm not sure if it's a new frame or one that was powdercoated white. I think it was done in '03. It's in pretty solid shape with a little wear and tear. What would I look for to tell if it's an original? I'll investigate and let you know, Steve

floorboy 02-10-2012 01:58 PM

Its not original. It should be straight on top like this

Looks good though.

heynow2203 02-10-2012 08:35 PM

I was told it was custom winshield

heynow2203 02-13-2012 09:37 PM

anybody down here on the cape have a place i can pull that engine out my pickup truck is taking up the bay (blown head gasket) and it won't be back together for a while and need to hand over the boat to the new owner even a boom truck anything would help

Wildman 02-14-2012 09:49 AM

Nauset has a boom truck that they will send out with an operator. I work for $100/hr with a bobcat or an excavator. If its all unhooked and unbolted its usually a 2-3hr job from boat to pallet.
