headed to Largo!!

Leaving out early in the morn for Key Largo to pick up the 25. I cant wait !!! I was going to bring My roller trailer but the breaks are INOP and the tires are a little dry rotted so I called a friend of mine who hauls boats for a living, to see if he had a trailer I could borrow. After I told him about the boat and where I had to go, He offered to take his 650 Ford and his big Alum trailer and go with Me to Largo for nothing, only draw back is I gotta pay for fuel and tolls!!! still cant refuse his offer, No wear and tear on My truck and trailer and I aint gotta drive!!
Ill post a bunch of pics when I get back!

Good Luck!

Leave early, do your work early and get out early!!! It's spring break and when I left last Saturday it was bumper to bumper heading south from the "18 mile stretch" to Islamorada. I can only imagine how it would be heading north this coming weekend!!!

Good luck!!

I've got no idea......I was installing new counter tops and had an annual POA meeting to attend. Not sure when I'll be back down, however it's bonefish and tarpon time very soon, so it won't be long!!!

Well We made it down and back, Got in late last night ,it was a long trip and I am worn out but it was worth it, heres a few pics of her loaded up and ready to head north, I think the truck n trailer was a little overkill but better safe than sorry!!
Im going to start a thread in the repairs section and Ill post some more photos there.
Thanks again To Carla for posting her and It was very nice to meet you and Skip, I hope I can make it down later this summer.

Sweet man, welcome and yes the truck and trailer were overkill but must of been a comfy ride to and from

DonV 03-16-2012 03:16 PM

Hummmm.....Harris Park???? Looks really nice, a super start on a fun adventure. Skipper and Carla are good folks and it's great they were able to sell it for their "SeaCraft friend". Good luck!!!

Is that the standard water line on the 25s, or is she a little stern heavy with the twins on the bracket? Boat looks really nice, glad everything went smoothly. What are your plans?

My plans for now are to get her up and running and go fishing!! I plan restore her on down the road. Heres a pic of her in the water getting ready to be towed, she sits pretty level in the water

cdavisdb 03-16-2012 07:02 PM

The waterline aft is much higher than mine, a single 5.7 v8 with outdrive. Might be the old water line designed for twin 6 cylinder i/0s. It looks like his water shot is floating very high, much higher than mine with minimum load. Looks like the chine is out of the water at the transom. Empty fuel tanks?

One thing that will help very much on handling, planing speed and roll is to get a larger fuel tank and put it as far forward as possible. Forward edge of my forward tank is just aft of the step down. You will need the extra fuel for any serious offshore work.

This was one really happy guy grinning from ear to ear, as he was checking her over for the first time.

Phil ... It was great meeting you and look forward to your retun trip to the keys for some LOBSTERS!

Keep us posted on your first fishing trip.

Overkill? Maybe! Nothing's too good for the new baby!

I'm sorry to remind you that your are now one of the infected group. It is chronic, terminal and EXPENSIVE!

NoBones 03-17-2012 12:19 PM

That be Harry Harris Park Don...:)

bilgerat, did you try fire up the 150's before being towed?
Nice having friends with good haul rigs..

Good luck with your new addition as well as the sale
of Ole Yeller!!

seafari25 03-18-2012 07:02 PM

Congrats Bilgerat!

Nice score. I have often wondered how the 25 would perform with twin outboards. It will be really interesting to see your report. Good luck getting her going and with the sale of your 20.
