1971 20' Seacraft CC project w/Black Max $1,500.

I believe this is a 71 Potter built hull, It has 4 stringers. Thats what I was told by the previous owner. I bought this as a project to keep myself busy through the winter, however what with college tuition payments etc. funds and time have not allowed me to finish it. When i bought it i knew the floor and transom were both bad so i removed them both ( just the coring in transom). The console was junk so i ditched it with plans to fab my own. This is pretty much a bare hull thats been gutted in prep for a total rehab. It comes with a 135 Mercury Black Maxx. Which i believe is like an 89 (i will check on that-its oil injected). Motor was running great a couple years ago when it came off local harbor master boat, looks clean. Would like to get $1,500. This is an affordable way for someone to get into a seacraft that wants to finish it to their liking. does not come with a trailer but i can come up with one for another $250 if its a must. Boat is located in Boothbay ME, i can be reached at 207-350-6511.

Pics coming

price drop - 1500$ takes it. The outboard is probably worth that alone. Boat is actually in good overall shape. pictures dont really do it justice. suppose i should have taken the time to clean it. I need the space. lets make a deal.

teamtoro 05-25-2012 09:52 PM

350 $ For the hull. I need the space.

Normagain 05-25-2012 11:25 PM

That's a great deal for someone. You've put a lot of hours in just in demo so that saves someone a lot of work. If you didn't live clear across the country and I didn't just start my project, this would be a no brainer. Good luck with the sale!

whats the length? ty

Blue197320 05-27-2012 08:50 AM

thats a 20ft super fisherman. VERY versatile boat for south fl. it will be the smallest boat out on some days which shows you how well it rides and how sea-worthy it is. $350 for the hull sounds like a steal to me. the motor is a perfect powerplant for it too, as long as it runs.

TheSpecialist 05-27-2012 01:57 PM

Would you be interested in any trades for the hull. I know you want to get it out of the yard, I am short of cash, but I have something you might find interesting?

teamtoro 05-28-2012 01:55 PM

I would consider trades for glass resin, marine ply or other compsite materials

billythekid 05-28-2012 09:26 PM

would you consider delivering it with the trailer?

YeA 20sF 05-30-2012 11:01 AM

Damn too bad ur in BFE

billythekid 05-31-2012 07:03 PM

teamtoro 07-14-2012 08:07 PM

Yes. It's not the price, it's the location. If you weren't 1000+ miles away, I would have already pounced (against my better judgement).

well if it will help sway you to make the 1000 mi journey ill throw in 20 lbs of fresh lobster, maine is pretty this time of year, sounds like a good excuse for a vacation

Do you have the bow hatches for this boat?

Would you sell the hatches?

Mark 07-26-2012 11:27 PM

I'm quite surprised that someone on here looking for a 20' doesn't also have a drivers license. Gas is NOT that expensive. Go stand in line, take the driving test, get your license, then take a drive! I drove four states away for both of my SeaCrafts when gas cost more than it does now (granted, I already had my drivers license...).

Bigshrimpin 07-27-2012 09:43 AM

This is killing me looking at this deal, but I need another boat project like a hole in my head. Anyone who is interested in this boat . . . I have a full transom 3 sheets of marine ply laminated together for a 23 that can be cut down for this boat . . . will let got for short $.

GodsReel 07-29-2012 11:03 AM

I really want an 18 , but if someone doesn't go get that thing i might have to and then i will still want the 18 and have to have all three.

teamtoro 07-29-2012 07:16 PM

You can never have enough project boats guys. Come on ! i'm going back to college ina month need this gone 500 bones for potter built 20' on a trailer is F*&%ing steal, anybody got a small gps they wanna trade, something like a little cp190 5" standard horizon or garmin ? Ive had like 20 pm's from people who keep saying there contemplating taking the drive but no one has yet to just sack up and do it.

Basketcase 07-29-2012 09:12 PM

Do you have any of the hatches or hardware or is what you see what you get? I'd be a bit concerned about getting it all back together since I wasn't the one that tore it down. It would not be my first full boat restoration. Can anyone chime in on how much harder it would be not having what came out to reference from? Like how would you construct the whole interior? I'm not versed in how these boats went together but I'm just having a hard time visualizing what the heck you would do after putting a floor in this hull. Im only a couple hours away from you btw.

6buoys 07-30-2012 10:42 AM

where are you located

teamtoro 08-01-2012 10:07 PM

6bouys im in boothbay maine, basket case its super simple, if you would like some instruction i would be more than happy to help get started, there are also alot of restoration threads in the galleries section of this site that can provide you with invaluable help. These are very simple solid glass hulls which actually saves alot of time durring resto projects, ie- no coring issues, very straight forward. boat already has longitudinal stringers just a matter deciding how involved you want to get or which way you want to set the boat up. me personally i didnt want the old casting platform and 25 little baby hatches, i was going to use this as inshore BFT boat for fishing the good weather days down at Platts, the Kettle, and Sag. I was gonna run a level deck bow to stern, no step up in the bow with a single battle station in the bow. It would take a long time to describe exactly how i wanted to set it up but go in the galleries section and look at trayders restoration and stringer/floor rebuild, that is very similiar to how i would do it (but with a single large box infront of the console just big enough to stuff a nice fatty in) Call me if you want to talk i posted my number on here somewhere in the thread

6buoys 08-05-2012 07:49 AM

the trailer you mention would you tow it 1000+miles . if not what do you think it would need . how is the fishing up there now anyway.

joey 08-05-2012 05:46 PM

Do you have the title to the boat and trailer?

aiezzi 08-10-2012 09:24 PM

Hey im interested in it. Does the boat have a title? Also would you be willin to meet me somewhere to pic it up? I have a trailer to haul it with. Email me iezziboatworks@yahoo.com
