Took a little trip over to the Bimini/Cat Cay area.
Here are some photo's of the trip, along with some observations----. 1) Bet when the builders put 35 rod holders in the gunnels of those SV's and SH's, they didn't think 35 a----s would be sitting on them. 2) How many large motoryachts have 65' tenders, plus a REALLY nice waterslide. 3) Girls on the flats at CC, Kalik Gold= $4, sun= Free, result= Priceless--. I am sure there will be a few more addtions. Great trip, good times, neeed to learn Spanish for the next trip to HH. OP |

Although I don't feel the need to jump off something like that unless it is on fire or....... well It would have to be on fire I guess..... Looks like a great time!!

Very nice Oly!

I really want to make this run in my 20 someday. What do you guys normally run on the way over, fuel consumption etc.

Do the math. Leave from Miami (ramp to Bimini Dock) around 60 miles if you drive straight. Leave from Palm Beach area and it is longer and going into the stream.
50 gal is enough to get you there, refuel after you clear and refuel as needed and make sure you are topped off for the ride home. I made the trip 15+ times in a 20' potter. Sorry didn't really answer the question but in my big boat w/ twin 250 ox66 leaving from Boca I burn 53 -58 gal over and mid to high 40's on the way back. I hold 260 gal and only top off if I plan on running up to the Issacs or way south. |
