thanks, hate to get rid of it but i had to get a 25" to match my enclosed transom and armstrong bracket. the motor also comes with shift, steering cables and a helm all ready to fit a sf 20.

Looks familiar! That motor sure is clean. Caught quite a few snapper in that pass by the way...Good luck on the sale Robby.

Power trim pump?

I've got a '74 Hewes Bonefisher for my the next boat restoration project, and this is tempting. Any idea what it weighs? NADA says around 300 lbs.

merc weight

Sounds about right 275_300 lbs.

trim pump

yep, it's included and works fine........

Newbie questions: Is there a long-shaft kit available for this motor? I like the weight of this motor, but having a 20" notch in the transom makes me nervous. How narrow could the notch be with this motor?

long shaft conversion

Thanks. Still a long shot for me/us, but hey, I like doing research. I'll find out cost of long shaft conversion.

long shaft

$500.00

pianewman 02-03-2013 03:49 PM

Well, that saved me some time! Thanks.
Still dreaming of Seacrafts "swooshing" back into the water...what a sound...
I agree with a previous post...Carl really was an artist. The Seacraft boats, in addition to having such a well balanced ride, are just perfectly in proportion.

compression test

at the request of a fellow member i ran a compression test last night. (not something i would normally do as this usually leads to dissappointment and depression). however in this case, neither a perfect 130 lbs across the board!!!!!!!!. i also ran it as i do once a month. also went perfectly......

Thanks, Rob. I'll call tonight to talk about the best time for a trip down.

Is this motor still available? I found a 71 Seafari O/B in CT that might just be the right boat for this motor...and within my $$$ reach...

Thanks, Rob. We got it back to gator country safe and sound. The Hewes we stopped off to look at on the way home was a bit of a disappointment. I'm glad the old tower of power wasn't.

It's going to hang from my gantry crane until I can throw together an engine stand. Our lovely spokesmodel had the day off, so Willie had to fill in.
