Stolen motor - BOL
its a long shot, but I wanted to get the word out everywhere....
My F225 was stolen off my seacraft this weekend. 2003 with under 500 hours. LEFT HAND rotation. Stolen out of storage yard in Vero BEach. $1000 reward to any information that leads to arrest http://gallery.bateau2.com/albums/us..._shine_674.jpg http://gallery.bateau2.com/albums/us..._shine_674.jpg |
That sucks
good luck |
Ditto, that sucks...kinda hope you catch them or second option, somebody else does :)
|
That sucks Joel. I hope they catch the dirtbags.
|
Yeah, feeling pretty bummed out. Will see what I get from insurance, but it was a sweet motor. I doubt I could find another of the same model in that kind of shape, I planned to run the heck out it for at least 3 years.
:( |
Joel
Put it out on Fla Sportsman Forum SE Section. The more eyes you have looking for Scumbags the better. Tough deal here  |
Shine, i am so sorry to hear about the theft of your Yamaha. i'm also sorry to hear that this problem has moved north. In Palm Beach County we have had a rash of Yamaha thefts in the last 6 months. The word on the street is that a group of 4 guys from Miami, who were caught and jailed 5 years ago, served 4 and a half years in prison, and are now out and doing exactly what they did 5 years ago. The engines go to Miami and get exported to the caribbean and south america. Apparently, nobody checks outgoing cargo containers. These assholes are pros. they're not going to stop.
I used to jokingly say that every Yamaha owner should paint their engines black, but damnit, it's just not a joke anymore. This is getting g***damn ridiculous!!!! |
Pretty Chitty, good luck with the Claim.

Why? Stupid? Could be. Trailers only have reg. stickers. No title in So... fl. Many other regs are "challenged" imho. Last seen heading to S. Fl. GFS |
Sorry to hear about the theft of your motor.I hope the weazels slip up in some way and get caught, and you get your motor back.
I had a close call with my Yamaha a couple years ago.Dirtbags were one bolt away from getting it off my boat before they were scared off. I hope you get yours back. Hopefully the creeps will get caught.I hate theives.Even when caught they don't get the punishment they deserve. Good luck. |
Shine . . . so sorry to hear about your motor. This marina got hit too over the weekend.

Do you have any more info on this, tried a news search could not find anything. There is a rash of these right now |
Maybe this guy knows . . .
http://www.palmbeachpost.com/news/ne...n-bla-2/nLmkd/ "They're taking entire boats sometimes just to strip the motors," said Detective Steven Beare of the Palm Beach County Multi-Agency Auto Theft Task Force. "We have recovered outboard motors shipped overseas." |
Maybe drive around the immediate area and look for high quality video cameras.
Ask if you could review the loop. |
With all this advanced new technology you would think that someone would come up with a gps recovery device that would text you a message or call your cell phone if the object is moved more than a hundred yards. Would'nt that be sweet, then you can catch the dirt bag low life bast...s red handed & tune up on your target practice.

You have to have the secret CSC decoder ring to understand!! ;) I have them on sale NOW! Orders please... Attachment 3005 BTW Joel, I will keep my eyes on the look out up here... My neighbor that owns the property next to me also lives in Delray Beach and within the last year had his whole equipment trailer from his side yard that was locked up stolen while he was at the store in the middle of the day!! These scum bags just need to be shot!!! IN THE HEAD.... |
Marine related theft is running rampant around S Fl..I work in the marine industry and you constantly hear of thefts on what seems like a weekly basis, it not even surprising anymore when you hear of it, its kinda the norm and has been for a couple years now. There is nobody out there stopping these dirtbags so they pretty much have free reign with whatever it is they want to take, motors, guages, electronics, i have even heard of a few trailers taken from the ramps during the day..
|
I got my open up this way for you. Sorry about the loss.
|
Shine - I heard about the "same guys" theory second hand, after they hit the storage lot at Loggerhead Marina in Palm Beach Gardens (at the foot of Donald Ross Road bridge). One of the victims heard a PBSO detective mention that they thought it was the same guys. They got about a dozen motors (all yamaha) and the detectives found paper plates, plastic forks, chicken bones and potato salad containers near a hole that had been cut in the chain link fence. These guys are very comfortable in their endeavors.
So you might check with the marine theft detective division @ Palm Beach County Sherrif's Office. |

Siri is the voice activated concierge who helps me navigate my new iphone. There is an iphone app that will give the coordinates of its location if taken. So you could use it like a lojack. |
Yes, Im sure my insurance company is going to require some sort of proximity alarm or more secure storage.
Im just so disgusted with all of it, Im considering getting rid of the boat and starting over. :( |
sorry to hear that. don't know what i'd do if it happens too me. hope you find the motor. i hate thieves. cut their f--en hands off.
|
