Prayers out to the victims of the ruthless Sandy, indifferent bitch.
What was the thinking behind the Bounty's sinking? Sadly, I heard the Captain and one Crew member were lost. Thanks to all involved in the search and rescue for a heroic effort that saved the rest from a watery doom! This storm had been on the radar a while. Why had she, (Bounty) not turned in to harbor. Any harbor? WTF? Sorry, I'm not buying the boat is safer at sea than harbored in a storm of this magnitude... |
Sadly, they recovered the lady that was missing too late. The captain is still missing as of late this morning.

New Jersey has become a second home for me in the summertime since the owner of the yacht I'm running is a Jersey guy. We spent a couple summers in Atlanitic City, and this year Mannaquan Inlet.
My thought are with the people of the Jersey Shore (not those MTV idiots) and everyone effect by Sandy in New England. And I hope all our Seacraft brothers are safe and sound. But I feel confident that these folks will bounce back pretty quick, this is a tough crowd and they wont take this laying down. I'm looking forward to going back next summer. I know some things will be different, but I know the additude will be the same;) BTW, I saw the Bounty on Thursday near The Race at the east end of Long Island Sound as I was traveling from NYC to Newport. She looked really cool. My thought at the time was they must be based in Mystic. But I saw on another forum that they were out for a day sail from New London with some special guest. They left for Texas after dropping off their guest because they had a deadline to meet. I don't want to play Monday morning quarterback, but I can't imagine a deadline that important. RIP to the gal they found, I hope they find the Captain, and good job to the Coast Guard for rescueing the other 14 crew. Be safe out there. Lloyd |
Present and accounted for, Sandy was a bear! The barrier islands around here took a beatinggggggg! I am one of the few, let alone waterfront people that faired ok in this one. Historic stuff for this area.
