Can't get the article without signing up, but I'm surprised that the 23 is so far back in the pack.

Lordwrench 12-13-2012 09:51 PM

who beat on the 20'?

Blackfin26 12-13-2012 10:45 PM

43 Meritt was the last listed after the 20 Master Angler

NoBones 12-13-2012 11:17 PM

Yeah baby!!!
The ole 20 comes in at #2 :):D

Even though the pic is of a SF, they called it a Master Angler

PigSticker 12-13-2012 11:31 PM

You dont have to sign up to see it, just click on the 'next' button and it will go down the list of 50...

McGillicuddy 12-13-2012 11:35 PM

And the photo of the 20 is credited to forum member syxx:cool:
WTG Capt. Rick.

Mikem8560 12-14-2012 12:42 AM

so what is the difference between a MA and a SF?

McGillicuddy 12-14-2012 01:41 AM

Think main differences are a 4" gunwale cap that offers that much more free-board at the stern and a more favorable fishing layout.

I think the picture in their slides is actually a SF model.

More details here http://www.classicseacraft.com/specifications.htm

77SceptreOB 12-14-2012 09:34 AM

I think it is more of a list and less of a countdown.

DonV 12-14-2012 09:51 AM

Hey Ken, Ya gotta love it!!

76Red18 12-14-2012 01:03 PM

They obviously never fished an 18...

Snookerd 12-14-2012 08:53 PM

I agree! The 18 is top 10 fo sho

eggsuckindog 12-15-2012 02:31 AM

I guess most haven't been around a MA much, its the baitwell and the cap I would say. I would have given tours if anybody asked, its a quite different feeling.

I do think it was a list and rating - although I think they just messed up with the Master Angler, as they talked about the SF20 I believe as it was the icon. Frankly I thought the 23 would be higher as well but the 20 was the groundbreaker I guess.

This is very cool, those are some serious boats to be considered with, I guess we always knew we were smart bastads.

workinpr0gress 12-15-2012 10:55 AM

It's so subjective. I don't think those "all time" lists mean much in general especially when you're not camparing like sized boats. Imho there are a ton of boats large and small that they don't mention that belong ahead of many boats on the list.

gofastsandman 12-15-2012 11:59 AM

Yeah, Abba is in the R&R HOF but Little Feat and J. Geils are not???

Briguy 12-18-2012 02:58 AM

Woah, a 30ft Wellcraft and 30ft Pursuit outrank a 32 Blackfin??????
No 27ft Phoenix????? I call BS! And they have the nerve to use a modern 23. :(

fg1 12-24-2012 04:47 PM

And a 20' wellcraft came out ahead of the best riding boat in the ocean - 25 SeaVee?
ComeON!!!

seakat 03-28-2013 09:48 PM

SeaCraft23

You have it backwards....the 23 is #2 alltime

joshmon71 04-02-2013 02:27 PM

and the conch 27 is at #26, is this not a stretched 23 seacraft? or was at one point...

I see the 23 SC as #21 though....and #2 is the SC 20.

I thought that it was derived from the white water hull.

That is where I would put the little Wellcraft 20'. 25' SeaVee is hellova pricey ride in comparison.. LOL! Just don't get too worked up, it is not in any order unless the maker of said list was drunk..
