F/S Marine alloy flotation bracket

I have a custom 30" setback 5083 and 5086 aluminum alloy bracket for sale. I don't want to cut it down to 24" setback for a 20 footer. The flotation tank is big, it is aluminum MIG welded inside and out, and it is made of the same aluminum they use for buoys. It has sat outside for 3 years and still shines. I bought it, cleaned it up a bit, but no longer have access to the sort of tools to tweak it for a 20 footer. It would be great for a 23 footer. I have some 6" radius 5083 stock as well, if someone who can weld aluminum wants to make nice corners on the swim platform. It is also lighter than most fiberglass brackets.

I am asking $900. It is north of Boston, but I can deliver locally, or meet someone.

I'll give you a call this weekend.

FYI- here is a thread on the bracket:

I think it is really set up for a 25" motor on a 23 footer- which I don't have. Dunno if you weld aluminum or not, but I will give you the parts to put a really nice radius on the swim platform. It would be worth having it done. Just make sure they use 5183 filler rod/wire. I would paint it, but I bet it holds up fine without it. 5083 is some nice stuff. It makes 6061 look like a zinc anode.

Ok let me know

I'm out sorry bud.

still for sale. I have an inspection plate for it, too.

Nobody? Make me an offer if I am asking too much?

The picture shows "filler rods" so I dont think it was mig welded but Tig welded. Most aluminum is tig welded and not done with a mig gun. Maybe mass produced brackets but not usaly the back yard made type. And yea kinda a lot of $ for a non-finished item that needs work and paint.

Unfortunately, the picture on the welding bench is a bit misleading. When I bought it, there were a few welds that were unfinished, so I finished them with TIG. So you are right there. But it was mostly MIG welded.

I can adjust the price accordingly. It is mechanically complete as is, just less finish, unless someone wants radiused corners. But I have preformed material for that, too.

Yes a radius would be nice.. Also i would put gussets to support the upper mount bolts

Still for sale. I think the setback is a bit big for a 20 footer. Should be good for a 23. I don't see myself putting an outboard on the 25 footer, so this needs to go.

Price reduced to $700

Make me an offer?

FishStretcher 05-13-2014 08:25 PM

No really. Make me an offer. I can likely meet you somewhere in MA for delivery. If the pickup passes inspection.
