Hey all bracketed with 4' DnD Marine Bracket 30" setback. Went on well. Then the Merc 250 as well. Now on to rigging!

Should have bought an evolution like me. :-)
Good looking rig and it should move with that 250.

Hahaha no comment my friend on the EVO! Ull spank me no doubt but for a N/A car it's a fun lil rig.

tilt range

So out of curiosity...does your bracket allow you to tilt the Merc enough to get the prop/lower unit out of the water?

My sister had an R32 up until last year. Fun car but hers was Auto and definitely not as fun after daily driving my modded evo for the past 7 years.

Yeah a modded EVO is a rocket! This is stick shift, it pulls pretty good for what it is and sounds amazing, all that said i need a supercharger and it will be just right :)
I need to work on the SC 23 before I get into modding the VW...down the road.

Here u go, we are mounting the gauges in the bottom strip of Lexan and the electronics and switch board on the upper portion.

That's a classic line! One of my favorite movies!

BigLew 05-03-2013 11:06 PM

Classic lines:

Kelly's Hero's

Odd Ball (Donald Sutherland): "Hey man, quit with the negative waves!"

PS. We should start a thread of Classic Lines from Movies/Media

Hey all we are just about finished with the white Rubrail and SS insert. Oh man i forgot how many screws needed to be drilled out and put in!!!! OMG!!! Over 270 screws! Making the bend on the transom is a bit more work than we thought but almost there.
Have a few spots we need to finish off as we lost some drill bits and/or my arms along with my fathers and brothers are like elastic bands lol! In all I love the white RR with the SS insert, I loved it on my Mako 21 and love it on the SC 23!
Here some pics :)

Rubrail question

Hello Sullivan21,
Sweet ride!! I am looking for the same rubrail for my 23'. I have some questions, if you don't mind? Is that the Taco Marine 2" White rigid with the 1" SS incert? How many feet did you order for the complete rap around? Where ordered and how much?
Thanks in advance:D

Thanks bro! I can't say for sure as it came with the boat. I do think its Taco it is 2" rigid vinyl for certain (I did this with a 1 3/8 Taco on my Mako 21) .5" SS insert.
We had 3 20' strips of white vinyl and 4 12' or 15' (i think) SS pieces

When I did the Mako I got the SS from Barbour Marine and the taco from West Marine to save on shipping so I shipped to store it was like $450 total.
This RR is more beefier than that one though and I not certain what the coat would be. Pm me and ill gladly research the proper RR and insert at the best price. I'm in NYC today till tomorw but ill check it out for you when I get a moment.

Sullivan21 05-11-2013 05:31 PM

Just about finished now, gonna add a SS splice cap but it came out well:

Sullivan what make is that rub rail? I'm restoring a '79 23'.

Sullivan21 03-15-2014 10:42 PM

I believe it's Taco, it came with the hull in unmarked boxes when I bought it along with the SS inserts .5". The white is rigid vinyl 2" I believe (ill measure for you). Came with 3 20' long pieces.
