What...you must be joking!!!!....
Someone should have saved this Sceptre when it was on Craigslist forever..another perfectly good boat in the hands of a wacko...blunt enough for ya!:D

See...and you thought converting it to a C/C was a bad idea! :p

Must be our day here a CSC for idiots! Just add him to the list......

How can a 9.9 equal fun and fast? LOL :D

Maybe you should spell out your real intentions, and let the crew get over the shell shock that you laid on them...ha ha:eek:

pianewman 05-30-2013 09:47 AM

..."...augmenting a bothersome unpopular layout with the goal of slight improvement..."???

...me-thinks someone is pulling of our leg...
If the boat's in Sarasota, maybe I'll send my brother over to check it out.

What in Sam Elliott just happened here today?

OP , the speed of life is a little slower here in Mayberry.

How many CSCr`s does it take to change a lightbulb? 101.
1 to change the bulb and 100 to complain about how much better the old one was.

The 20 Septre is a pretty rare hull and you did say you had thick skin.
Kinda like building an Igloo, climbing inside and yelling Oh No Don`t Jump On The Igloo!

It would be far easier and much cheaper to find an unloved Donzi and go that route.
It takes an advanced understanding of engineering and imagineering to pull off what you propose. Weights and balance, shear loads, tensile strength and on and on.

Very few pros much less amateurs have sucessfully reinvented the wheel.
If you are so inclined, take it one spoke at a time.

Perhaps OP forgot his meds this morning.

Seriously. Deadrise, Dude,

First, welcome to Classicseacraft. Second, relax, man. What you've done is the equivalent of running into a group of fans you don't know, who are tailgating at your team's stadium and yelling about all the things you would do differently if you were the coach.

We don't know you. It's hard to tell what you're serious about and what you're joking about in your first post. How do you expect us to react? If you'll slow it down and let us get to know you through some reasonable posts, you'll find we're a pretty good group. And yes, most of us have a sense of humor. How else do you explain Gofastsandman?

I can see it, why don't you just fab up a low profile windshield that follows the line of the back gunwale as it comes forward.

That would preserve the integrity of the classic hull and give you the "donzi" lines you are looking for.

You get the idea.....

NoBones 05-30-2013 10:33 PM

Thats it.......:o:confused:
I'm turning the 27 into a flats boat....:eek::eek:;)
With tripple 15's....

floorboy 05-31-2013 12:29 AM

Wow.

Just as well out in some bow lights for eyeballs too. :/

It could almost look like a mini seavette with a low windshield like that.

McGillicuddy 05-31-2013 01:26 AM

Nova top, Moesly bottom... ok with that. Just changing the windshield a bit, maybe seating -- not like your gonna find a Sceptre 20 windshield on CL or the flea market... get a light-weight 200 hp 2.4 L Bridgeport and go surprise somebody with your new sleeper... sounds like a fun twist... oh, and get a life insurance policy. Enjoy:cool:

The teeth kill the deal in my opinion.

Remove the bowrail, and everything not needed, put in some pop up cleats and low profile Nav lights, a dead straight paint job and maybe some striping reminiscent of the late 60's muscle cars and/or Donzi sweet 16 that works with the seacraft lines and you got a classy, Gucci style boat(as Capt Chuck would say)

Leave the teeth and cutsey names and graphics for the Hull Truth crowd.

cdavisdb 05-31-2013 07:56 AM

NO, NO, NO,

Thats not the right teeth.

To understand teeth, study pics of old P40 fighters. You will eventually get the right idea.

Make it look like this with a low profile windshield and you have a winner.

I did the p 40 with eyes and teeth the first time I saw 65 Bowrider`s ole 21. Remember?

strick 05-31-2013 08:56 AM

I like that blue boat a lot. Copy what that guy did :) Conner is right if your gonna put teeth then you have to make it smile a little. Your teeth have no smile. And I was starting to think you had no sense of humor either but now I see you do. Welcome to CSC!! I like that the low profile windshield idea. Thanks for the entertainment I needed a good laugh after my colonoscopy appointment.

I don`t really start many comedic threads as you have so skillfully done. I`m more of a crop duster. I like to fly in low and slow, identify my target, and bombs away.

Cheers and welcome,
GFS

You stumbled upon the best folks on the net. You on the west coast of fl?

Ah, but notorious can carry such a negative connotation, and so we pass on that...

Legendary, poet laureate emeritus, master of of the mangrove snapper hook and cookbook, and willing learner of all things deep or those that hover above such depths...

a Willin' Little Feat fan, owner of an owner hook, or two - perhaps; and a friend to all that befriend him.

He is not big, he may have gotten small, he may have known Aldo - but notorious, IMO, should be reserved for villains and deceased rappers.

Not for skippers of Moesly's and slacker's... This, this is only one perspective of the one and only GFS!

I may dive Sunday. Why not? I need one more lick. Yikes, so pretty.

This So. Fl. and we have fun. It`s in the 80`s here and Vt. is 90? Yikes.

Thanks man I appreciate that. I think I'm ok. The strang thing about it was when I woke up after the colonoscopy there was a bottle of wine and a card sitting there. What does that mean?

gofastsandman 06-01-2013 07:31 PM

Fred, you should change your screen name to roll Dolphins roll. Just how many boats have you flipped in the last seven years? I lost count around 10. Where did the 24 Topaz express end up? I see one here now and then, and she is sexy indeed.

Doc, I think the wine was a be home at 8 present. With a Bear skin rug, a hanging wicker chair, a block and tackle, and a swivel. Whee. Lisa`s smile is wider than yours somtimes. They do exist. Really, they do.

Cheers,
GFS

"For love of Mosely we gotsto PIMP MY POTTER!"

Moesly...not Mosely

DonV 06-02-2013 07:58 AM

"The most important thing is making sure the chrome to GOLD bling super dip anodizes properly so it will touch off the new purple sparkle flake hull paint job I'm planning in the future"

This is where you will need to be careful with how much bling you put on, you will not be able to take it cruising in the hood late at night without fear of riots breaking out over your boat!! :)

pianewman 06-02-2013 08:17 AM

yo...deadrise...it's Moesly, not Mosely...and shouldn't your forum name be "variable deadrise"?

gofastsandman 06-02-2013 06:49 PM

I never understood this. To undertake means to begin, where does my car go off the
cliff? How do I get into in home enbalming?
