Who gives a crap how great a SeaCraft rides

I'm not going out in 30MPH winds and getting blown all over China. Brunch planes ruined today due to the wind. We were going to take my brother and his new wife out on a nice boat ride to the Grand Island Mansion on the 25 seafari. I don't think they would have appreciated the Variable degree deadrise hull on a day like today. Now we are taking a Toyota Camrey instead. I hate the delta in the Spring/Summer. As soon as the kids are grown I'm getting the hell out of here. Go ahead and beat me up. I might as well own a flat bottom aluminum skiff.

Sorry for the bad weather luck.

Not too many bright folks go out in the open for fun in 30mph. Its when you get caught out unexpectedly in that or worse that a Seacraft, particularly the 25, shines.

TooFly 07-07-2013 08:31 PM

Moving? Where? To Chatham?

martin 07-07-2013 11:58 PM

Chuck move to the panhandle.. would.love to have you in the neighborhood...plenty of land for sale cheap.. taxes are low...

Mikem8560 07-08-2013 12:27 AM

What's up with that? Your dog pee on your cegar stubb this am??
:-)

Sorry to hear that nasty wind ruined your plans.I hate to admit though ,that I did get a chuckle out of your rant.
You sound very much like me every time I get up to the boat for a week or two of fishing. The weeks before I leave the water conditions are perfect light winds stable water conditions.
The day we arrive, the winds change to the east-northeast,with nice steep waves that seem to be twelve "inches" apart.
I'm like Gary Sinese(liutenant Dan) in forest gump, yelling up to the sky screaming "C'mon,is that all you got? I'm usually throwing the finger while I'm screaming all kinds of four letter words.
I've had trips when out of eight days,we were only able to fish one or two of them.I HATE WIND!!!

Good luck with the weather Strick. I spent my ait army training at Fort Ord near Monterey. It seemed pretty nice there compared to lots of other places.Look at it this way,the fuel mileage is a lot better in the Camry.and better cup holders

Well you have been down to the island...I highly recommend that you start looking for the place you want now, before the prices start to really rise.

There was one on your road for $349. Old wood house. I have been looking around. We need a get away place. The entire Delta is usually too windy to have any fun on during the spring/summer. It gets good Sept thru March. My brothers wife gets motion sickness real easy and she even got a little queasy on the car ride yesterday :)

I would look for optimal boat building weather and start there.:D

Bigshrimpin 07-08-2013 10:08 AM

I feel that way from Dec 1 - April 15th. You need a vacation :) get a damn plane ticket . . . and come on over.

gofastsandman 07-08-2013 06:52 PM

Been told fresh ginger is the best for motion sickness. Night before and morning of.
Dangling participle. Clean up aisle 5.

Doc, Jupiter Farms and Wellington have huge Horsey populations, and although not my thing, you can always fish inside.

Still may do a last minute trip. Been working 12 hour days still which makes it hard to plan anything. The grass is 2 feet high in my back yard right now. Life sucks when all you do is work all the time. Woe is me...... Makes me wanna buy another boat that I don't have time to use :)

That house sold...and you would not believe what it looks like now. Different paint, landscaping, pool. Really sharp!

Are you coming back down in September?

Bigshrimpin 07-09-2013 10:32 AM

Door is open and room is ready . . . call me from Boston or Providence and I'll pick you up. Even in 25knts (rare this time of year) we can find a place that is protected enough to fish. Thunder and Lightning we can work on the 25 :)

I can relate how you feel, had a tackle shop in NH aking with my canvas business. I had to work 7 days a week 10 = 12 hours from ice out in early spring to ice in generally in November..

and then in winter I still had ice fishermen to take care till one day I had enough and moved to florida . I still get rush jobs and loose some Saturdays but I try to slow down a lot espccia;;y after suffering a stroke in 2010.. ya got to take more time to go fishing !!

Working on that right now... Lisa wants the end of Sept. I was thinking maybe during the gathering would be a good to come down. I'll be calling you in a few days.

Just make your plans, the gathering is iffy...If you show up maybe we can have a mini day gathering up someplace where we can all boat to.

I think I passed your old Yellow 20 yesterday with a white T Top and Etec . . . 150hp?

It was coming off the cape rotary heading toward Falmouth . . . I was heading off cape stuck in traffic. I did a double take and I'm pretty sure it was your old boat.

Hahaha. ;) Man, that Bourne bridge traffic is a doozy.

Bigshrimpin 07-12-2013 01:17 PM

Thursday seems to be the new Friday for traffic at the bridges. Some day they'll get rid of that F'n rotary and all will be well with the world. I was almost 100% sure that was you . . . boat looks great!!

Bigshrimpin 07-12-2013 02:41 PM

Funny to see her on the east coast . . . brought back some good memories seeing it go down the road. It'll be a fish slayer.

Chuck - Get a ticket!

Tim you always have had that eye for SeaCrafts :) If it were not for your keen eyesight I would have drove right buy it in the marina that day and that boat never would have made it to ClassicSeacraft.com ;) I'll give you a call later.

Alright Paul enough is enough when you gonna post some pics? Your almost there No?

Haha. Thanks bro. Yeah, but rotaries add to the (sh*tshow) mystique that is NE traffic! She's a badass ride and was one before I got her. Chuck is quite the craftsman. I hope I can do her justice with some good fish and bloody decks.

ALMOST, Chuck! Almost!

I had her out on the Vineyard and she got looks all day long. With every stare, I wondered "is he on CSC" cuz lots of people had the "hey, I know that boat!" look about them. Lol

Yeah, you gotta make it out here. Dinner is on me!
