'69 SeaCraft Restoration
1 Attachment(s)
I'm new on here and wanted to share my rebuild of my '69 SeaCraft. I bought the '69 Hull down in Ft. Lauderdale last July. We have been restoring it since July. I want to post the 30 pics I have, but have no clue how to do so. Any help would be greatly appreciated

I take that back the image uploaded.

We cut out the old transom and built it back to a full transom to enable the Hermco Bracket. Next raised the stringer height 4'' and glassed them in.

Pogey Pen Jr and Center Console just to get a feel for the layout I'm going with, while we wait on the tank to be built. The stringers have been glassed in if you look closely.

Looking good. Keep it coming

Tank and new lines run for that is in and the Coosa Board deck has been put in and glassed. You can see the chase built for the controls in the deck. All lines for washdown, bilge and baitwell are under the deck at this point. JB is starting the process of strengthening up the Gunnel.

this boat was just the hull so there was no forward compartment/anchor locker and what I call casting platform. so JB built one, cut an anchor locker, didn't like the anchor locker, strengthened it up and glassed it back in, cut the Casting platform to build a new anchor locker/storage compartment and cut out for the front speakers

JB's got the transom just how we want, cut in the access, and speaker holes. Excited is an understatement. I put a deposit down on a 2014 Yamaha LF200XB last week, bought the ignition swich, and Yamaha guge 6 JL speakers, the fushion 600 cd/am/fm/Bluetooth, a garmin 720 touch screen, NEMA 2000, the 704 binnacle, sea star hydraulic steering. so, im broke now, and gotta start building some houses again. on a lighter note we are gonna make it splash before summer.

Pogey Pen Jr is glassed in, CC is glassed in
JB, cut in a large access hole in the CC, we only want on, but want it big enough so I can use both hands under there. This is where we are at now, and JB is out of town, now I can concentrate on this Flip house and spec house I'm building. |
Awesome!! Keep the pics coming.

Van,
Looks awesome, eerily familiar of a certain "Coral" colored bote. :D - If you can figure out how to get the joint from transom to liner cap on the inside from cracking, let me know. - Very nice boat, quality work, all except for that "cheap" white bilage hose I think I see. :D Good looking job. I couldn't get my hands on left handed engines for months, and you are putting one on here? How come SC has lefties? Wassup with that?? :) |
Thanks for the attention to detail Ole! My Dad told me a long time ago to respect my elders and pay close attention to them when getting answers to questions. I'm new to all of this and I loved your work on the '72. I have watched JB do his thing and asked questions along the way. I have a tremendous amount of respect for boat builders and fiberglass guys, that is an art and seeing it come together is a very rewarding process. Thanks for the kind wods everyone.

Very nice work. You're going to love it when it's done.
I agree with Ole on the corrugated bilge pump hose. Get rid of it now. It will crack. Ask me how I know this... Instead, use either 1" nylon reinforced vinyl tubing, http://images.lowes.com/product/conv...43032330lg.jpg or better, 1" spa hose. http://www.homedepot.com/catalog/pro...336366_400.jpg I've found both types sold by the foot at my local Ace Hardware or Home Depot. If you soften the end of either type in hot water, or with a heat gun, it will slip over the 1 1/8" fitting on the pump. In addition to being more durable, the smooth walled tubing will have less resistance, so you'll get better flow. Dave |
very nice work!

Thanks for the heads up on the bilge hose guys! I will change that out this week. |
Great build and good inspiration for me to start my 20. A lot of what you've done is exactly how I want mine. Nice work.
|
Very nice! I love the Awlgrip. It's sweet to apply, and you get a mirror finish. It's been two years since I sprayed my 25, it still looks great, and I hardly twitch at all anymore...

I twitch. I ask about future twitching. Dock lines are silent with a fun crew.
Here we go again. |
Super nice.
