Restoring 23' Classic
10 Attachment(s)
This past Spring I have been busy restoring my black 1998 23' SeaCraft Classic and she is really coming along! Repowered with twin 2013 Mercury 4-stroke 150s was the beginning, then the hull received a new paint job, currently all the cushions and leaning post are off for refinishing and the gelcoat is drying on the deck. More photos of Black Beauty to follow!

Sweet. Real Dealers getting it done......and with all our crappy weather.....nice progress.

Very nice! Any idea what the total weight on those mercs is?

The engines weigh about 450 lbs each. Full specs available at:

Have u run the SC with the twin Merc 4 strokes? Just curious how the performance is as I have seen them with twin Yammy 150s not Mercs though.
Love the black, keep coming back to look! |
The Mercury's perform very well! I am very much a Merc man as I have 250 Verados on both my 26's and the 150 4-strokes on the 23'. I just switched over from the Optimax to 4-strokes this winter and so far they have been performing great.

Great project. What's your cruise and top speed?
|
Thanks Blackfin26. Cruise: 30 mph at 11 gals/hour (both motors). Top speed: 44 mph.
|
5.5gph per side!? That's insane!
|
Real Deal the boat looks great. I have seen all you guys youtube videos, very nice footage. That boats has seen many big tuna on her deck.
Keep up the good work, and thanks for sharing. Make sure you post up some video footage of her when she is done;) |
