1978 Potter 23' SeaCraft Superfish CC
10 Attachment(s)
This is the hardest thing I have had to do besides putting my Dog to rest. Old Age issues force the sell of my SeaCraft that has been my partner for 30 years. I am the 2nd owner :(
You guys know the boat and some of the Gucci extras on board and how I maintain my equipment. Please PM me to exchange telephone numbers for further details or discussion. The boat is on a lift in Stuart, Florida. I hope it transfers to another CSC member. As of now I am not placing the listing on CL or THT. Listing Payment Sent (Unique Transaction ID # 3B084423H2453900U) $27,000 Complete Extras & Pictures (see page 2) below. That's a real shame Capt Chuck, but someone's gonna score a real peach of a Sea Craft. Good luck with the sale.
|
Damn....not a good day! Sorry to see you sell her Chuck. That boat is better than new. The original Gucci boat. That boat will be gone quick.
|
Damm Chuck,
it's a shame to have to give up such a prized member of your family,Hope you rebound from the ravages of old age and health. Going thru the same thing myself, and wondering how much longer Ill be able to handle the 23.My Docs last words to me were,("do i think you'll end up in a wheelchair? probably at some point") not exactly what I wanted to hear. Don't give up Chuck, fight that good fight,Good luck to you with the age and your health, and if you absolutely have to give her up,I'm sure she'll go to a good home |
Chuck, I know we both talked about this in the past few weeks...
When we did our guys trip to the Keys this year had the same thing... Four 60+ year old guys with bad backs, bad hips, bad ankles, and on and on!! The 20 ft. was just not pleasant for this trip.. Been thinking about the same thing, when they only get used 4 or 5 times a year. The flats boat is way easier to manage and maintain, plus used mostly on the inside... Agh, if only to be young again! GOOD LUCK! |
Yeah Chuck, thirty years ago I never looked at the marine forecast. Just went fishing and did not worry about the beating, now I'm down to 3' to 5'ers, unless the wife goes and it's 2' to 4' max.....actually closer to 1' to 3' seas. Old age sucks, however not as bad as not making it to old age!!!!
Good luck! |

It was great to talk to you recently. I appreciate your advice. I had to put down my Jack Russell this summer after 15 years, who was a crazy bow surfer on both the 20 and 23. I downsized to a Moesly 19 bowrlder, which is under the knife, as it's easier to manage on the trailer, but refuse to part with the 23. I hope everything is OK other than you are having trouble with the glare off that Gucci ride. Best of luck to you and Lillian going forward. I'll look you up next time I'm in Stuart. |
Capt Chuck, so sorry to hear!
This is the most awesome Gucci boat ! Everything well layed out, well maintained and kept in impeccable condition. I remember the day Capt Chuck took me out on his 23 Superfish, and yep, it lived up to its name as I landed my first Dolphin. Yea, we bloodied his boat, slipped the dolphin into the below deck fish box and kept on fishing! Thank you for that memory. Now back to the boat ... If slightly interested, just see the boat in person. These are good pictures, but they don't show off all the great qualities of this boat. Cheers! |
Chuckles,
I`ve been getting some K laser treatments recently for my heels and ankles. Things are starting to crack again and I do feel some relief after treatment. At the end of the day I realize my condition is chronic. I`ve already imaginerered my yard arms for wheelchair access. Black Dog used to throw me on the boat. Wheelchair and all. Cheers, GFS |

Sorry to hear your selling her Chuck.
|
I've seen this boat in person. Someone will get one of the finest Classic Seacrafts at a real steal of a price.
Chuck, sorry you have to sell. All the best to you. Lloyd |
Sorry to hear this Capt Gucci. Be well, Sir.
And I hope you get top dollar. She's a beautiful rig. Good luck with the sale. Someone is gonna score on this 23'. Cheers, Skipper. |
Damn Chuck; I pray your senility returns ASAP  and you find a new younger friend to help with the boat and try not to let the little thing's your new first mate does to bother you :D. You just can't replace them!
|
Dang, Chuck! Sorry to see you selling her - that had to be a tough decision, sort of like selling a member of the family! When/if I ever sell mine, I hope it will be to get a bigger boat that I can live on!
Hope you're able to find some good medical help to deal with age related issues! I started hitting the gym over 6 years ago after a cancer diagnosis, and it's the best thing I ever did. The cancer is in remission and I feel better than I have in years, although I'm not ready to repeat those Bahama trips I did in my 30's and 40's! Seems like a little strength training really helps to stabilize weak joints, etc., provided you don't overdo it! Guys, this boat is truly one of a kind, with first class craftsmanship and many unique well thought out custom features that you won't find on brand new boats costing 2-3X more! |
Damn, that is a tough call to have to make. Good luck with the sale. Someone is going to get a bad ass rig. Someone that is looking for a 23 needs to jump on this one. I can promise that you will not find another one that has been more meticulously maintained.
