Wooden boat show this Saturday.

Stopped by and took some pics on the way home. If only Honey Fitz could talk.
I`ll post some pics tomorrow after the show.

A 38? Rybo is there. One of the last with the flat sheer line. 1949 maybe?

Cheers,
GFS

You said woody.

flyingfrizzle 02-21-2015 12:30 PM

I know a guy with a Chris craft mid 50 ' s mahogany runabout that only wants $300 for it but I never cared much for wood working. It would be sweet for the right person wanting a project. She needs some work but under a shelter out of the rain.

gofastsandman 02-21-2015 08:03 PM

Well, my new battery case is incommunicado with my puter.
Grrr.

Seems I also have a few hundred work pics to delete from my phone.
Patience please.

The turnout was great and the boats, owners, and crew were all smiles.

Can't wait to see the pics,

It's amazing how much the Rybo "Frisky" resembles the seafari hulls. Love the look of that boat with the broken sheer

She was one of my favorites at the show. Perfect day boat there.

Big hats and lots of cattle up next.

Beautiful old wooden boats. Thanks for sharing the pics.

cdavisdb 02-23-2015 09:51 AM

Drop dead gorgeous. I have several customers who will get a link to this. Thanks from them and me.

DonV 02-23-2015 10:21 AM

Thanks Sandy!! My sister-in-law has a shop on Main St. in Sag Harbor and a few years ago when we were there I went down to the marina to check out some of the really, really large modern motor yachts and the "America" was there, along with some other wooden boats, err what I would call wooden yachts, just spectacular!! Thanks for the pics!

gofastsandman 02-23-2015 01:02 PM

I've got about 15 more pics I 'll put up tonight.
Wanted to get some more shots of Honey Fitz ,
but she was mobbed on Saturday.

The Trumpy pier had little traffic. Go figure.

Possibly the ugliest Burger ever made. Sorry, just being honest.

The trunk cabin looks original from the brochure.

`62 Glasspar.

http://i245.photobucket.com/albums/g...ps3068ed65.jpg

At first glance I thought this to be a fomoco sb with the distributor up front, but the owner said it was the ultra rare Buick/ Olds all aluminum 215ci that GM sold to Brittish Leyland. It was used in Rovers and some early TVR`s.

http://i245.photobucket.com/albums/g...ps8a32b1d1.jpg

300 hp in this tiny sled.

http://i245.photobucket.com/albums/g...ps54b1652e.jpg

Owner said 62 top end and I had to believe him.
He also worked for Bill Potter in `72-`73. Small world indeed.

Cheers,
GFS
