'75 Seafari rebuild results

1 Attachment(s)
This 75 Seafari had been used as a commercial bay scallop boat with plywood culling boards and a lot of neglect. Four years later the labor of love that pays off in spades all summer long! Complete rebuild from the tank to the windscreen. Added a full width Armstrong bracket, and created a dual battery box in the well to the cuddy. All new elecs., motor hydro steering. Kids love it but now I'm on the the '74 23' Sceptre. I'll post a few photos, in about four years!

Very, very nice job! Super clean and simple. One day I might have my ol girl prettied up but then again she's used to hiding all her bumps and bruises behind all the cuts and scrapes.

She's a looker,very very nice.
I love the color combo between the hull and the windshield frames.Did you paint the frames or are they it powder coated?
Makes me want to get to work on the Seafari I bought last year instead of just letting it sit there.
Congrats on a beautiful job.

scupper headache input?

Thankyou, color is moon dust awlgrip. I only painted the windscreen frames with emron, replaced the crazed plexi on the side windows with tinted plexi. I built the battery box out of 1" starboard, just created a dam inside the step down to the cuddy, used 5200 and then a starboard top held with stainless screws. Makes getting to the helm a lot easier and puts some weight at the helm on the centerline. When I closed the transom (it was an out board) made a full width transom seat that opens to access the bilge. Ill post some more photos when the temp gets above freezing. Interluxe barrier coated the bottom after taking it right down to the gelcoat. One minor glitch, the boogers messed up the wedge just forward from the through hull scuppers and a helper who sanded the port side compromised the original shape. Makes the scupper look like a water fountain without the plug in while underway. Anybody out there have any thoughts about the original dimension of those wedges?? They are quite sensitive as I found out. Spring project

BUMPing this old thread, would love to see pics of the full-transom-seating. Great looking Seafari!!
