I'm almost finished with my 20
After almost a year and a half of working on my 89 20sf, I finally just picked it up from the painter.

Do you have any before pictures?
It looks really good!
That looks awesome!
Love the color. Doesn't look quite as bright as a sea foam. What did they paint it with?
Very clean. Nice added spray rail. Details?
Power? |
Thanks for the complements. The hull is Awlgrip aquamist and off white inside and bottom. I will post more pictures soon.

It started out as a transom replacement but then I figured might as well fix everything now. I replaced the transom with 1.5" coosa bluewater 26. The deck was pretty solid, when I cut the skin off in a couple of places to check the wood I found the previous owner had replaced the plywood with foam board. I also replaced a section of the core at the bow and front deck with coosa. Bought a new and smaller 53 gallon fuel tank. Tank will now be installed on 6 solid 1/2" thick fiberglass slats and as far forward as possible. Cut out the deck well for bilge access and storage. Raised the transom up to 26.5". All work was done with us composites epoxy.

What size scupper thru hulls do you guys have on your 20s? I'm thinking of buying stainless 1 1/8". Is this to small?
Why did you raise the transom to 26.5", will it still be able accommodate a 25" shaft O/B ?
Yeah, I raised it. I've measured and the cavitation plate will end up right where it should be.
Installed the cleats and rodholders. Also recut scupper holes.

I'm having trouble finding two extra long stainless thru hull fittings in 1 1/8". The standard length from attwood is to short for my transom and I just bought some off Amazon that have a 1 1/8" barb but the thread is 1 1/2". I don't want to cut a hole that big in the transom if I don't have to. I can find the right length in plastic but I prefer stainless. Can someone recommend a shop or website where I can order these.

I finally finished. I took her out for a test ride on Sunday.http://i1140.photobucket.com/albums/...17_181720.jpeg[URL=http://s1140.photobucket.com/user/bibijawa/media/Mobile%20Uploads/20160417_174502.jpg.html]http://i1140.photobucket.com/albums/...417_174502.jpg[/URLhttp://i1140.photobucket.com/albums/...414_071538.jpg]http://i1140.photobucket.com/albums/...17_181541.jpeg

Very nice! Will you be adding a sunblock dispenser? :) I say that as my wife chases me around the boat with sunblock and she is requesting a remote mounted bottle and dash dispenser..... I am resisting but resistance may be futile.
Very nice looking ride!
I found some Perko extra long thru-hulls on Jamestown. I don't knw if they are available in 1 1/8", it may be 1" max. You could call them. http://www.jamestowndistributors.com...ctors+-+Bronze |

I was able to find extra long 1 1/8" fittings that o finally installed.
Who did the painting for you? And what did it run you?
A local painter and glass guy. He works out of a marina on the miami river. Lazaro Quinones. I got several quotes and he was the most reasonable. He did some minor glassing, filling and fairing and the paint. He did a great job and was on time.
Looks like all that work paid off. Enjoy your sweet ride!
where will you have the bilge access? my 86 has it in the splash well and i have never liked that setup.
I cut out the in deck baitwell. Now I have plenty of room to work on anything down in the bilge.
looks like you have two of them
