Seadek

Has anyone done the floor in a 23? I'm about to pull the trigger and get mine Seadek'd and was looking for pics and ideas from others. I have seen the Seacraft pics on the Seadek website with the bolsters which I'm also doing, but I'm interested in deck ideas.
Thanks

I was going to do my cockpit with the seadec but they wanted $65 a square foot.. way too much cash so we did a layout of the original stripes and sprayed with imron non skid and came out beautiful. It's lighter in person than in my pics.. Just an option good luck to you!!

Thanks Cabo. Your deck did come out great. I'm going to repaint, but my wife and I fell in love with the Seadek material. I use my boat at least 2 times a week and one thing I love is the cushioning.

If your pockets are deep enough for it I say its a great option depending on how you use the boat. I think on my boat that it would get torn up fairly quickly but it is a gorgeous product and really would be nicer to bare feet than a typical deck. I say go for it.

I beat the crap out of my boat... I fish at least once a week and we do beach/backcountry trips about once a month. Fishing and being on my feel all day gets exhausting... Especially when in flip flops or bare feet (damn deck drains).... I actually just got confirmation that the Seadek guy will be here Thursday to digitize the boat to come up with ideas and give me a quote. The Marine mat and ocean grip guys just contacted me today also to set up quote appointments. I will pass on how the process goes...

I have a blue Seadek cushion on my yeti and it doesn't get hot at all. I also have the fish tape measure and its grey and black and that doesn't get hot either.

First quote for the faux teak from Ocean Grip for my entire deck was $1600. Awaiting the other 2 companies before I make up my mind

How does that stuff hold blood Josh? Pretty easy to clean?

gofastsandman 02-22-2016 09:17 PM

UV will kill that in short order no?

jnamowitz 02-22-2016 10:30 PM

From talking to multiple friends who own charter boats down here, it cleans very easily with a normal deck brush and soapy water and there is not any color loss from the UV.. If it can survive multiple years of charter abuse on center consoles and flats boats here in key west, I am sure my abuse will be minimal and should have many, many years of use.

Cool. Send some pics when you get it done.

So, Seadek came today. They will only digitize the boat after signing the contract to have them do the work and giving a 50% deposit... Their quote for 23mm bolsters all the way around and 6mm faux teak decking was an astounding $3700. For the 8mm decking it would be a round $4000.... It might be a little rich for my blood......One more quote to go

I am going with Oceangrip. For the 8mm decking everywhere there is currently the non skid pattern it is going to cost $1750 plus tax. This includes a Seacraft engraved logo on the engine compartment and a fish tape up forward on the raised deck. I will be doing the same pattern and color as what's in the picture. It's gonna be so nice.

Do they have an installer in Keywest? Or are you hauling your boat up to Sarasota?

jnamowitz 03-03-2016 10:35 AM

They have an installer on Cudjoe key.

I had Seadek installed on my Seacraft Classic 20. It cost me $6500 including install and measure but was well worth it.
