1989 23' Sceptre parts
10 Attachment(s)
I have a 1989 23' Sceptre that I'm going to be converting to a CC (It's Tracker-era, so I'm allowed to do that, right?). Everything except the hull, trailer and fuel tank are for sale. Until I sell the motor, I'm not going to part out anything I need to run the boat.
2001 Yamaha 225 OX-66. The motor is a 25" shaft, and includes a 17 pitch prop, wiring harness, key switch, binnacle, remote oil tank, and tach w/oil level. Exact hours are unknown, but the motor was bought used in '02, and there are 413 hours on the meter. The motor is still mounted on the boat and can be test run. $4500 Aluminum radar arch with stainless steel bimini. The top and frame are in good condition. There's some oxidation on the aluminum, but structurally everything is good. $800 Hynautic steering system. The previous owner had it "recently resealed". I've used it for about 6 months without needing to add fluid or pressure. $500 Fuel tank cover - just recored with foam and biaxial from Gulfstream composites. $100 Fuel access cover with pry-out plate - just recored with Meranti BS-1088 and biaxial $50. Stern cover with livewell. No plumbing, "livewell" is just the hatch and tub. This was solid and didn't need recored. $50 If there's any other parts you need, let me know. I do have cushions for the cabin. I'll take those out and get some pictures as well. You can contact me at: Matt 813-375- one eight three zero I'm located in Apollo Beach (Tampa area) Paypal transaction ID: 3NK32478JD322984L (Don't know if this qualifies as a "boat" sale, but since I'm selling the top half of the boat I figure it's close enough). |
What would you take for the windshield? Mine is pretty good but I'm kind of a pack rat.

How much for the seat boxes and all associated trim?
Thanks, Matt |
I could use the glove box and cabin hatch if you'd be willing to ship to CT.
|
Interested in fuel tank cover. I wouldn't suppose they made the 20 and 23 tank cover the same size? What are the dimensions?
|
I could be interested in the cabin cushions. I don't have any at all for my '85.
|
I need a fuel fill and cap.
Pic? |
Sorry, I've been on vacation the past week out of the country.

I just need the glovebox door and framing. On the cabin hatch I need the one from the cockpit in to the cabin. My glovebox is covered up with a piece of wood at the moment and I'm using a piece of vinyl to cover the cabin access. I don't need the door. I just got a new one from 77SceptreOB.
|
I'm in no rush just let me know when your thinking of cutting them out and maybe I can give you a hand.
Thanks Matt |

CJg8r - The seatboxes are yours for the taking. I'll let you know when I'm getting close to tearing it down.
Bushwacker - I've thought about the Savage conversion, but the limited bow access is one of the main things I don't like about the Sceptre. 90% of my use is freedive spearfishing, and we might change spots 15-20 times a day. We also don't typically have good visibility, so an anchored boat gives a point of reference to keep on our spots. |

Terry, I'm mostly just south of the shipping channel.
|
I'll take the livewell. Let me know when you have it out, I'll come get it.

OK, so after a few years of running the boat and watching the motor bounce more and more on the rotten transom, I'm finally digging into the boat for the rebuild. The plan for the boat is basically the same, scrapping everything above the stringers.
At this point, I'm ready to rebuild and just going to get rid of everything - mostly free for the taking, except: Radar arch and Bimini - $200 Full set of vinyl, blue cabin cushions in good shape - $20 Seagate with hinges - $20 Consider those "no haggle, if it's worth that to you to come pick it up, it's yours" pricing. If it's not worth that to you, it's worth that to me. :D Stuff people might be able to use for their boats that is FREE (and I'd prefer to not have to ship or deliver or meet you somewhere, but might if there's a good enough sob-story): Hynautic steering system - the steering ram leaks, but everything else is functional. I'm assuming this was original to the boat. The pump and helm are in good condition, as well as the fittings if that can be of help to anyone. Windshield - it's original but everything on it is functional Cap - getting rid of it, so if you need the whole thing or parts of it, I can creatively cut it up for your use. (I've already tossed the rubrail, it wasn't worth saving). Liner - same deal as the cap Fuel hatch and livewell - the fuel hatch and small fuel access hatch have both been recored and in good shape. The livewell is original but doesn't flex. Cabin hatch - the glass hatch on the cabin is in decent shape Any other parts that you might need, let me know and I'll let you know if they're worth taking. I am saving most of the hardware that can be reused for the new build - cleats, rod holders, fuel fill, etc. |

I have a welded stainless bow rail on my Sceptre that came off an 80's vintage seacraft and I'm missing one of the end pieces. The part where the rail terminates at the deck. About a 7 inch (might be more) slightly bent piece of stainless with some screw holes in it. Currently have two different rail ends and its driving me nuts. :o |

Where are you located?
I need the bomar style hatch in the cabin. Could use the access hatch in the splashwell and the Yamaha binnacle too. Thanks |

The Bomar hatch is yours if you want it. If you're close enough you can pick it up, otherwise I'll ship it for whatever it costs to ship it to you. Splashwell hatch - it's pretty warped. It's good for keeping large animals out of your bilge, but that's about it. You're welcome to it, if you think it'll help. Yamaha parts - I sold all the controls/gauges with the motor. |
Also, I saved all the teak trim (don't have the under gunnel rod holders). If anyone wants it, they can have it. It'll need to be refinished, but it might help if you have missing pieces.

BigI, sorry the hatch came out in two pieces. If you're desperate and need a hole to fill, you could screw it in and caulk it at the break. It'll still function.
|
ahhhhhh,,,the joys of 5200!
|
Do you still have the helm, reservoir canister, and lines? if so how much do you want for them?
|
Matt-
Great to hear you are starting the process! I am still needing the windshield. I’ll text you to set things up. |
Thank you for trying!
|
Matt,
Still want the boxes and possibly the arch and cushions. Thanks Matt(in Dunedin) |
Sorry, haven't been online in a few days.
