Hello Mr. England. Lucie, myself and the Frigg' It will be in attendance as well. House should be empty (2 extra rooms), plenty of trailer parking, and possibly mooring two additional SeaCrafts in water. Is this acceptable?

I'd like to invite Ken and Mel for their gift of Grouper last year for my buddy who was still battling. Dogs optional.

Vezo, Part II

P.S. My brother and his family renting a big house in HB 8-6 thru 8-13. His SeaCraft will remain here in SC, but I will be down first two weeks of August with the Seafari. Hello to Marsha and Doug.

TomParis 07-09-2016 03:01 PM

I got to check with the wife, but count me in assuming she says yes!

If I said to my wife, let's leave for Alaska, or whatever, she would probably say, when, let's go. I have to slow her down sometimes. Yes, Mr Terry she already has it on her calendar.

gofastsandman 07-09-2016 09:41 PM

Here's the plan Vezo Part II, Doug and I have been cooking up -
A little background on the Hernando Beach / Weeki Wachee area -
THE BAD -
- There is only one tiny waterfront hotel in HB
- There are no Marinas
- Only "on the water" fuel is in HB
- Most of the bottom of the Weeki Wachee River is lime rock
- Busy boat ramps on the weekend
THE GOOD -
- Not as "busy" as Homosassa or Crystal River during scallop season
- Short run to the southern scallop grounds of Pine Island and the "Chaz".
- Fresh water flush included in each trip
- Great local Resturants, Kayaking, tubing and wildlife.
THE PLAN -
1) Get a hotel lined up in the Spring Hill (SR-50) area to stay
Holiday Inn Express, Spring Hill - 1-800-997-5148
Motel 6 - 1-888-690-5281
Hampton Inn Spring Hill - 1-800-230-4134
2) The Ghetto Yacht Club (Doug and my 1956 New Moon trailer) and it's neighbor's has three small docks and about 400' of seawall on a quite canal just West of the Shoal Line Road Bridge in Weeki Wachee Gardens. Once you launch at either Roger's Park or Bayport, you can leave your boat in the water for your entire stay or do the same at Vezo Part II's in Hernando Beach, as he is my Co-Conspirator in this endeavor. If you take your trailer back to the hotel you are staying at we should have plenty of parking at the "Yacht Club" for your car/truck otherwise things will be very "tight" with a bunch of trailer there.
3) Scallops have been very plentiful this year and most "limit out" in a couple of hours. Lots of "Nature Coast" to explore, Gator Trout in the pot holes near the mouth of the Chaz. and good diving off shore in 25-35' of water with ball bat Mangos and 18" hogs.
4) Keep your fingers, toes and eyes crossed that we don't get a 'Cane or TS up in the eastern Gulf in the next two months to screw things up. The hotels have good room availability that time of the year, so no rush to book until we see what surprises El Niño has for us this summer.
5) I'll post my e-mail on my personal page.

In response to your postings -
Vezo Part II - Excellent, In gald you will be back "in town" that weekend. They all miss you at Zig Zag's
Tom Paris - Just don't let her drive here, she's liable to run into something big and yellow!
Bumpdraft - Leave the boat in Sabastian, bring the camper and the kayaks. Between the Cayo Mia, Marshtackie and Old's Cool, we have plenty of room for you and Ms. Cyndi.
GFS - These are Bay Scallops - big ones are about the size of the end of your finger. You are allowed 1 pint per person or two gallons whole. A little better yield if you clean off shore and use 1 pint Zip Locks, in case the Gray Boat wants to pay you a visit - Safety Check!
Gilly, You are overdue for an Inspection of both Port Manatee, Port Tampa and of course, Port Weeki Wachee, Bro'
Rick G - sent you a PM

Sorry about the "thesis"

Vezo, Part II 07-10-2016 01:25 PM

I truly do not believe they miss me or my filthy ash trays at Zig Zags. But they LOVE my credit card and tipping scale. Friday nights rock with that solo guitarist now living on the beach. Like 200 songs in his head!?! And yes he can rip Eric Clapton's Cocaine!!!

Yes, I was thinking maybe Fishlips, Dougie, you and I head offshore on Thursday and gather up some pescados for the "Cook Your Catch" $12 special Scott and Spring Hill Jill put together for me with the last group that was there. We can have a Friday night Captian's meeting at Zig Zags and they'll probably give us the back room. Maybe about 8:00 PM or so everybody that's coming can get their boats in the water and situated for the Green Flag in the morning.
With your permission I'll look into that.

Vezo, Part II 07-10-2016 04:38 PM

Permission granted. Carry on, Sir.

Good job Snookerd. A solid option, mainly for campers.
On the map, the Ghetto Yacht Club is just below the "a" in "Gardens", at the end of Circle Drive. Roger's Park boat ramp is 1000' east, just east of the bridge over the river, on Shoal Line Road.

Save room for me at the dock Mike! I will get with Mel when she wakes up today and have her check her schedule for work. Should be no problem working out a mixed grill of scallops, fried grouper and hogsnapper ceviche! Depending on Mel's schedule I'm not sure if she can spend the night but I'll be there if you have the room.

bobbert 07-12-2016 08:40 PM

So you allow 25' Bertram Hardtops??

Vezo, Part II 07-13-2016 09:08 AM

No problem Ken. The spare room with the queen is yours. If Mel can't make it, you can take the third room with the full. May be able to commandeer neighbors larger dock, if you don't mind taking your shoes off to walk on their lawn to the dock!?! Standing by.

rcnight 07-13-2016 10:11 AM

Looking forward to attending my first SeaCraft shindig - been long overdue on my part. My folks live close by so lodging not a problem. Could use a dock berth if anything is available.

Snookerd 07-13-2016 03:30 PM

Good to have you aboard Casey! This thing looks like it's going to be well attended.

SeaCraft Soirée Maybe

Hey Ter3-
Anita & I may be back in Fla again in Sept, w/o "Neat-Sea". If so might drop by again to socialize. Yea, haven't had our fill yet of the SeaCrafters we met and maybe put some new faces with some CSC names. Probably won't know definitely for awhile. Not trying to crash any boat rides or bedrooms. Can you recommend any closeby lodging?

T-Bucket #2, That would be cool if the logistics worked out for you and Anita to swing by. If you re-wind to post #10 - I listed some hotels close by, where you might want to stay. We have plenty of boats coming and need deck hands; throw you mask and snorkel in the car - just in case.

Scallop Soirée Accommodations

Ter3- Thx once again friend, lodgings duly noted. Would be good to see you all again. A couple of weeks ago we got Skip & Carla on "Neat-Sea" for some Lake Hartwell watersports. A bit different than their usual rides.

TomParis 07-13-2016 09:57 PM

Hope we can have all the Terrys at the meet!

Tommy, You'll like T-2. He has his "Childbride" drag him around the lake barefoot skiing a couple times a day between his jogging and workout sessions. He worked with Denny at Pratt and Whitney figur'in out Blackbird "motors". So he's smart, cool and in "good" shape, where as T-3 is silly, a dork and more "pear" shaped!
Now T-1 is so cool his Moesly 21 SeaCraft qualifies for Medicare!
(They just drag me along in their slipstream, and I'm OK wit dat)

I am thinking it would take me about 7 days to make it down from Maine by water with my 27 Tournament. That would be a hell of a trip....wish I lived closer.

Leave that thang tied up on the bouy ball, sport over to Manchester and jump on that Jet Blue to Tampa. You got to have 'Explor'in the Nature Coast" on your bucket list and we'll scratch that one off.
You can't sit around talk'in about the good 'ol times and not go out and make some new ones! You only got so many sunsets to see. Here's one

Mermaids

The topic has come up about Mermaids several time already in PM's and I'm try'in to tamp it down. You see, I don't want to mention it around GoFastSandMan (Sandy) because little things like dat "sets him off". Once he finds out that there are real Weeki Wachee Mermaids, he's liable to show up next weekend, fer gosh sakes, just to make sure he's got a good parking spot in September!
As the Classic SeaCraft "Culinary Expert" he's already got his mouth water'in just thinkin' about what he could whip up with those those succulent Bay Scallops and if'in I was to mention real Mermaids, who knows what else would git wet.
You see the problem is he relocated down from Mass. years ago and found out his Live Free or Die chromosomes were comfortable here. He decided to to make the Homosassa Gathering run last year and said "Dang, I never seen three generations of family in Camo and every other pick-up has a Dixie flag - what the hell is with this place". Once he heard the band playing Marshall Tucker and the CDB he kinda' fell into the rhythm of things and hit his stride. By the time he rolled out on Sunday he had Grinder Switch cranked up to the max. and was lookin' for a real estate office.
So keep it quite about the Mermaids, will ya'?

DonV 07-18-2016 02:23 PM

Just in case GFS is wondering about the Mermaids, here's my youngest Granddaughters with one of the better examples. I was NOT allowed to sit with her for fear of the big one!

77SceptreOB 07-18-2016 02:31 PM

Don, do mermaids drink your "Pink panty drop" Houch?...LOL!

DonV 07-18-2016 02:48 PM

Well pink seems to run in the Mermaid family.......so I guess so!

"Scallop Mauraders" Captains meeting 9/16/16

Let it be known far and wide that those participating in the September Seacraft Scallop Shindig are cordially invited to attend the "Scallop Mauraders" Captians Meeting on Friday Sept 16th at 8:00 PM, at the Zig Zag Scallop Resturant (4417 - Calienta Street, Hernando Beach [may load as Spring Hill]).

Seacraft Brothers RickG, Marshtackie, Cayo Mia and Fishlips will be harvesting a bounty of grouper, snapper and hogfish on Thursday to provide a bountiful feast for those in attendance for the mere pittance of $10 per person with two sides!

The Seacraft Scallop Scallawags will be give there own room at said establishment to plot, plan and envision proposed attack on the masquerading mollusks - and also to tell tall tails of Seacraft lore. Healthy grog rations will be available from the bar to properly lubricate the spielling of nautical yarns of both Old Crusty and Cabin Boy SeaCraft Seafarers.

PS - Vezo II, they asked me about your bar bill, I said "Vezo who?"!

DonV 07-19-2016 10:59 PM

"also to tell tall tails of Seacraft lore"

Those are some really tall tales Sir, very tall!!!! I'm thinking some PPD shine will make them even more outlandish! :)

Vezo, Part II 07-19-2016 11:40 PM

SHIT !!! 0.7 miles from the Fish Camp!

DonV 07-20-2016 05:25 PM

In reply to Danny's post #8, Mary's is booked for that weekend.

Update

1 Attachment(s)
The PM's just don't seem to be working very well so I'm going to put this out there. I hope to be in Hernando Beach in early Sept and through the entire weekend of the 'vous.

Second bedroom, a queen, Ken and Mel will not be using but hope to be in attendance. It is open.

Third bedroom, a full, and room for one air mattress/sleeping bag.

Living room, enough space for two air mattresses/ sleeping bags.

I think I can store six trailers.

Dock space is limited, but we can raft a few. And I may speak to the neighbor, but that's a 50/50 shot.

Per PM's received first up BushWacker, then DonV, and Rickg TRUMPS all because he is bringing the Hermco mold!!!
