Thanks, Joe!

I marked the calendar! I finished up the motor rigging and have some minor electrical to take care of, but I should be ready to join you by then. I am scheduled to seatrial my 1972 Seafari this weekend, so hopefully all is well.

Likely trailering down from central NJ and will launch at the ramp you recommended. In a few weeks I will reach out and get the details on the location of the ramp.

Looking forward to getting to meet some other Jersey owners...

T-Shirts

Hey Northeast SeaCraft guys, are you interested in some Classic SeaCraft T-shirts? We are planning on making some up for the Fall Gathering held in Fla in September. I believe the design is NOT going to be specific to that event and will be generic in nature. If interested please see the attached link.

Sorry to jump in on this thread, but I thought it was related and someone may want some SeaCraft clothing that is rarely produced...

Jim

SailorChlud 08-10-2017 05:28 PM

Aww..I now have a funeral of an uncle to go to in Delaware on the 19th. Most likely will be back in Jersey the same night, and will still make it, but cannot guarantee it. I will call you if I am coming.

Can you post details on the Absecon ramp for those of us trailering?

Trying to get a roll call , so I don't want to discourage anyone due to the number of boats that show...asking everyone to keep my cell no, handy for questions 609-335-5519

directions Absecon ramp. from north areas GSPW exit 48 Smithville will put you right on rt 9 south. count 5 lights , the 5th light make a left on Lisbon ave , to end Faunce Landing rd.
make a left to ramp...BUT first make a right on Faunce Landing to Up The Creek Marina you will need a 10.00 day ramp pass available there. it is a ez ride from the GSPW and good parking at the ramp................NOTE at dead low tide have your boat on plane going through the stake channel its low and narrow, the creek itself is deep , just the narrow staked passage needs some care, if you have a good mapping plotter you will see the channel PS I am docked 200 yards from the ramp but will not be departing to the gathering till after 4pm if anyone wants to follow me out

Joe,

I may get up there for a bit, weather permitting. I'm coming for the Somers Point area and would need to go outside. If the wind is up too much I won't be there. I know it's a Seacraft but common sense rules in the ocean.

Hope to see you.

I sadly probably can't make it

SailorChlud 08-17-2017 03:11 PM

Ditto for me - I have been looking forward to it since the spring, and now due to a death in the family requiring me to go out of state I do not think I will be back in time for it. Hope to be able to come next year. Thanks for organizing, Joe.

Joe R 08-19-2017 11:22 AM

Wife and I will be there aprox 4;30 remember if slips are full look for Dan the dock master. I would like to get us to slip next to each other...if full slips open up quick, or Dan will fit us in, he is expecting us..I don't know how many are attending...weather looks great so take a ride over...

Ac update

Thanks to the FEW that made the run to Atlantic City...John and his wife. in a beautiful restored cuddy made the run from Patcong Creek, and Chris with his original 1972 CC ran down from the Mullica River...Bruce was boatless as he is doing work on his , he sat back and rode over with the wife and I on our 21.....ANYWAY it was not a total bust...Lots of guys canceled due to various reasons...we will see about next year....We may move it to Farley state marina/ Golden Nugget. for better docking, food and drink....I don't know how to post photos on here, but I have them on classic seacraft facebook page..if someone wants to maybe they can help with photos....any way thanks to the few who showed up...I put lots of time in this , posting, flyers, etc. hope for next year

Ac 2018

Do you think there will be a 2018 Gathering in AC?

Joe R 06-03-2018 10:12 PM

I have been organizing it for the past 8 or 9 years...the problem is I work 7 days a week and only can make it on a Sunday evening aprox 4 pm till (more that 4 hours of daylight)...and so it was only local boats that could make it...I set the date in summer so we have lots of day light and a high tide...Some guys on here wanted to come from a long distance so a small local gathering late in the day was not worth it...IF THERE IS INTREST here for the same format , I will take it on again......I tell you... I did loads of work , printed flyers and posted them , loads of emails to guys. posted on fishing sites. and facebook,,,and still get only a few boats...BUT I will try putting together one again ...maybe , change few things

I feel your pain Joe R, like you said you only have Sunday and that makes its rough as I would stay over on Sat night and make a weekend of it but got to me at the job Monday? If you plan to have it I'm sure you'll post on here so I'll check now and then - Thank You for all your work to keep the SeaCraft community alive in NJ, I've been an owner since 1985, first a 20 and then the 32 in 2001 - none better!

I will post as soon as I know...another thing is slip openings...Gardners Basin is free for the deck bar. and Farley Golden Nugget free for bar / deck...but both are first come first serve, Saturdays and Sundays are busy,,however the Basin empties late Sunday
afternoons...These have been very small local gatherings.. a hand full of boats come by water....Golden Nugget takes reservations or may hold some slips but there maybe a cost after so many hours...I will check into it

Joe, you have tried your best to put a gathering together and I admire that....

Really have a hard time trying to figure out why you guys up north just
can't make it happen ???

Maybe you all just need to be worthless drunks like us crackers...

If all else fails, just throw in the towel and join us in September at Homosassa Springs at MacRae's, just bring plenty of juice & hoch !! ;)

Ed 06-11-2018 11:21 AM

Atlantic City is a 2 day run from Maine. Hmmmm......
