At Home on the Colorado
4 Attachment(s)
Finally got her out to my Arizona house and spent 4 days on the
Colorado. Strangely, I didn't see any other SeaCrafts there... She performed beautify. The water was mostly flat expect for one afternoon when a monsoon storm blew in fast from the east. Heavy wind and a nasty, steep lake chop didn't phase her one bit; trimmed the motor down, kept speeds below 20 MPH and cruised home safe and dry. She pulls a skier no problem, runs along happily in the upper 30s, gets in (and out) of the skinny water, is great for camping and everyone appreciated the cabin for storing stuff out of the sun. Is there anything a SeaCraft can't do? |
Very nice pictures!!! Kinda strange seeing a SeaCraft in fresh water with mountains in the background! :) :) However it looks right at home, even with that fancy new red boat! Cool!

Nice!

Great shots! I am usually not a fan of the Keel Guard, but that shoreline looks like a good reason to have one.
|
Nice pics.
Like Bushwacker said, "the most versatile of all the Seacrafts" Fun to see somebody else like theirs as much as I liked mine. If I get manage to get real old, I might just trade down to a 20 again. |
Seafari on Colorado
Tony- Great pics. Glad you are getting to use it. Pics of my yellow Seafari on SC lakes have mountains in the background- but they are green, not brown! I remember talking with you about watersports on the Colorado and Lake Powell. If ever I get to that one on the "bucket list" will let you know. Wakeboarded and slalomed on Lake Harteell yesterday.

Nice shots - How many miles can you go on the Colorado? I did not realize it was such big water. I always thought it was pretty shallow.

I have about 75 navigable miles between Parker and Davis dams, and the waterway includes Lake Havasu and several other smaller lakes. The water depth ranges from 3 or 4 feet to more than 150' on the main part of the lake. It's a fantastic place to explore! |
Google Earth makes that area look pretty interesting, especially down toward Parker dam. How clear is the water?, satelite pics look pretty good.

bars to visit... The water is usually very clear, with visibility at least 10-15'. |

Variable dead rise, center of gravity, cavitation plate height, blah blah blah..
I just bought the boat so I could dangle my legs over a sandy beach. |
Good times!
|
Yeah, you say you just wanted to "dangle my legs over a sandy beach", but you're the one who signed onto CSC. We know you secretly wanted all that techical bla bla: you can't hide!
I'd like to join you dangling my legs over a secret Colorado beach, especially if the water vis is decent. |

Late summer heatwave in Arizona with temps around 120 F.
Spending the day on the hook in a quiet cove is a good way to beat the heat... |
Yum. Hoping to do the same this weekend on Sandy Hook.
