Moose in Sebastian

Mel and I will be at the Sportsmans Lodge from this coming Sunday to the next. Planning to meet up with Ron and would welcome anyone else who would like to drop in. Weather permitting we will spend every day offshore doing a variety of fishing, diving, deep dropping and at least one night swordfishing. We are loaded for bear with a full battery of gear to get it done as we have been looking forward to this week on the water.

Welcome to Sebastian! Enjoy your week. Maybe I will see you out there. If you need anything, shoot me a message.

Did well today getting fins, gags and Mangos. Mel bagged the first fin of the day and it just got better as day went by. Filled the 250 and made a new friend as well.

Yes, looks good. I was out of town yesterday and I had several things to do on the boat today and since the NWS was calling for 2-3 ft seas all week just pick a day, right? I'm going to have to get another weatherman. Was planning on going tomorrow, but its already cranking over 20 and they changed the forecast again.

The only reason Mel approved HD carbon fiber outriggers.......

Snookerd 05-08-2018 11:16 AM

Nice! The Eagles flag is a close cousin to a pirate flag on your boat :D. Kenny Chesney would be proud-"Pirate flag and an island girl". Great pictures from yesterday, by the way!

DonV 05-08-2018 12:00 PM

Ya know Moose those must be some REALLY strong outriggers for you to shimmy all the way up there and hook up that flag for Mel :) :)

Very nice!! Those bulls are a bit heavier than what they look which is good because in your case will make many, many fish tacos :) :) GFS has you covered on salsa.

Very nice Ron! Good to see you the other day.

We are up to about 50 lbs of grouper, fins and tuna fillets not including the 4 dad put in the box this morning. No bulls yet for us but lots of nice cows.

Down rigger pad Don...

bumpdraft 05-12-2018 09:53 AM

A down phone.
I'm here at the house, replacing batteries, wires, connectors and changing oil in the 4 stroke. This day just looks like its got fish written all over it and I'm not out there. At least I'm not having to deal with the warriors at the ramp.
It would have been nice to have the boat at the dock and just jump in and go. It really bums me out that the Sportsman's is only doing weekly rents.

I had my otterbox on the roof of my weenie truck from 13th st to Southern Blvd.
Maybe 5 miles and a cop beside me lit up his rollers and pointed his finger up.
Doh.

Yes Friday was a good day on the water and it was good in that range. Many of the big boys ran way out past 600 and didn’t do so well.

Don’t sweat not going today as it was a little slow for everyone. We only managed one small bull but Scott bagged his first tuna that went 22 lbs which is a good sized blackfin.

With limited utensils and a quick run to Publix I was able to make lots of tuna tataki with a miso, ginger and wasabi dipping sauce.

This time of year, the 120'-170' area is usually very productive for Dolphin. So many guys run pass the fish!
