Hang / secure fenders on 20 Seacraft

Looking for ideas to hang / secure docking fenders on my 2001 Lefty Kraig 20 MA. I have been using the protruding screws that secure the cowlings wraping the fender rope around the rod holders - Both "half ass" and unsatifactory - lost a few fenders !!

I need 3 fenders on a side - thinking 4 inch cleats on the inside face of the gunnel but dont like the idea of bumping into them.

Edit addition - I found Tempress Fish-On! Stainless Steel Fender Cleats - https://tempress.com/store/Fish-On-S...Pack-p18007047.
That look like they might be a good solution. Any body have experience with these.

I have a couple of these - rod holder fender cleats and I have lines on either end of my fenders so they lay horizontal or I can tie them up regularly depending on the docking situation and I can now space them at the rod holders and cleats as needed

I use pvc with glued cap on one end. Drilled hole in cap and fender line through it with knot inside pipe. Quick and inexpensive.

NOW we're talking!! That's what I did, a $2 versus $79 solution.

Thanks guys for the cheaper alternative - great idea - thinking maybe I might make (2) pvc holders and buy (1) SS rod holder cleat that could double as a temporary docking cleat if needed when visiting different docks. The lighter PVC tubes will be a lot easier to stow and handle.

So True - No bones - I had talked to Lefty at fishing shows and seen him cast farther with only the top section of his rod than I can with the whole rod . He was hell of a nice genuine guy - alway willing to give casting tips - He was one of a kind.

Oh yeah these are nice......I use them to hold my ice chest in place. Like all Perko stuff, nice and expensive.

Here's one on eBay

I have yet to install those on the MA, but I don’t understand the ebay listing. In the description of product, under Department; Uni-Sex. Can you explain this Don? Thanks

Michael.

Nope. It's way too far above my head to figure this out. :)
