Got my front anchor hatch in and I have 2 vents that will be up under the cap overhang so u won’t see them. Getting some primer on

Nice work!

Vezo, Part II 01-12-2019 05:48 PM

Very nice work. I just spent a ton of time, and forking cash on an anchor hatch, trapezoid, only to find that the locker does not have enough depth to set the shank down vertically on my 20 MA. Live and learn. Sure looks useful. What a waste.

Keep it up! Looking good!

Can you customize the anchor to fit. Little cutting and welding.

Vezo, Part II 01-13-2019 02:04 PM

I had anticipated a PVC pipe, mounted vertically, with slots at the top to accept the anchor shaft. Pretty sure I do not want to mess with my anchors design as much as I use it in the Gulf. Just trying to help others, with 20’s, that there is just not that much room from top of bow, to bow eye. Didn’t realize it before ordering the hatch, and the hole was cut. Foolish and expensive mistake.

That’s to bad it won’t work. I finish up my cap yesterday we are going to put back up on boat this afternoon. Going on stands this week so I can grind sand and prep from the spray rails down bottom and then it will be Ready for paint.

Put mine on the side so I didn’t have to reach so far to close it also made a cutout for the rope

I like it strait on and the friction hinges keep it up . I have 300 feet of anchor line that will stack up real nice around my pvc anchor holder will be fast and quick for moves. I have a lot of room to the sides were I can keep my 6 docking line for the Bahamas and keys out of the way. I am very happy with my 3 Gulfsream hatch’s and another thing a did not have time to build. I don’t think I could make them with time and materials for what they cost and they are very good quality. You did a nice job on yours. Should be easier to anchor in rough seas with out the step and not bending down to dg out of locker. I have 3 vents that will hide under the cap overhang . Capt chuck brought to my attention about mold hoping it will help.
