Absolutely gorgeous!

uncleboo 03-22-2019 04:14 PM

What's the price?

Ed 03-22-2019 08:43 PM

It is not for sale...it was restored for a customer.

FLexpat 03-22-2019 08:49 PM

You do REALLY nice work!!!!

Ed 03-22-2019 10:43 PM

Thanks, Mitch. While I chipped in a bit here and there, for the most part I was the project manager. We have a team of very talented people that are truly responsible for the results.

uncleboo 03-24-2019 09:06 AM

Yes, you do very nice work!

Console

Looks great. Is it a self bailing deck that was only raised one inch?

Where did the console come from? Is it narrower then a stock console?

Ed 03-25-2019 10:31 AM

Rybones-

We float tested the boat in January after the deck was raised (but before the finish work was done) with the engine installed and with three guys on board. With all of that weight on board the scuppers are still two inches above the water line. We then poured a couple of 5 gallon buckets of water on the deck and the water flowed aft out the scuppers like it should.

The owner bought the console from Marine Connection Liquidators in Ft. Pierce. It only had core material where the binnacle mounts, so we had to core the rest of the console, gelcoat the inside and then gelcoat the outside to match the deck & gunwales.

Lastly, a "coke bottle" green 1/4 inch windscreen with a 7 inch radius on the corners will be arriving to finish off the console.

Great work. I think the " Gucci Stamp" is in order.

I like the carbon fiber but a small Teak Helm pad would fit nicely in that semi circle indentation under the wheel !

SailorChlud 03-25-2019 01:51 PM

Well done!

Capt Chuck - I forwarded your Gucci stamp award to the owner. He wrote back

"I am both honored and clearly see how and why the stamp was created for this coveted award"

I mentioned that the stamp also used to come with a green tarp but that it blew away from Finster's house when Hurricane Sandy washed ashore.

Looks Great

I saw this boat in person at the Maine Boat Builders Show and it was both beautiful and done right. Very nicely done, congratulations.

Ed 03-25-2019 10:22 PM

Chris...what day were you there? I worked the booth on Friday and Sunday.

Water Rat 03-26-2019 10:34 PM

Of course I was there on Saturday!

Trayder 03-27-2019 05:20 PM

Sharp, Do you have pictures of the spalshwell area?, It looks like you raised the aft compartments very nicely

Ed 03-27-2019 07:56 PM

I will take pictures of the splashwell tomorrow. It is low enough to fully tilt up engine but tall enough to prevent your average splash over. The owner insisted on adding one. Thank you for the nice feedback.

Something to be said about clean and simple...good job!

strick 03-28-2019 10:07 AM

Nice Ed! Thats the perfect skiff... I like the little battery switch. Did you guys build that or buy? Looking forward to more pics.

Strick-

The battery switch compartment was an 11th hour decision on my part. We bought a round one fromPerko but it was a piece of junk, was the wrong shade of white and would have killed the look. So, I called Boat Outfitters and they built this one for us a couple of days before the show. It matches the other hatches and looks nice but not cheap...

Nice! BTW, I thought it was for sale the way it was displayed at the show or wherever you were. The owner HAS to be proud!

Uncleboo-

He is definitely proud and very excited. She will spend the summer up here and then will head south to Florida in the fall.

It was a fun project to work on!
