Buh-Bye COVID...CSC Gatherings 2021 POLL Here We Go...
Brothers of our fabled SeaCraft boats......the time has come once again to turn our attentions to a more enjoyable pursuit-getting together to stare at our boats, discuss fiberglass itching, catch/spear/gather our food sources, build a big fire, and finally eat well and tell multiple lies about our boating experiences and general talent levels! We are all in need of bugging out of our safe places and generally letting loose.
We have new 27's,23's,20's, and 18's that need to be broken in, new outboards to be broken in, and many new CSC brothers that will step up and deliver their MAN CARD this year. We all have learned in 2020 that we only live once. Now is the time to put that man card in an old timey photo copier and hit the enlarge button to 200%! Who is in for a spring gathering, summer Bahamas trip, and a fall west coast kick back gathering???? The poll will help you answer that loaded question.... Tight lines, brothers..... |
Well with Covid20 on the horizon and gas going to $5 a gallon by spring and my scheduled thought reprogramming classes in May, might make my appearance questionable....
Must obey all commands for compliance. Selling fossil fuel burning vessel for a late model Kayak. Hopefully a two seater. If it is permissible.. |

Check CSLI. Moon shot there. Amazing SS. I`m in for River Palm and Grand Cay. Set the date n rig the bait. |
I really enjoyed the scalloping trip however I agree with Sandy here. River Palm was a very easy spot, especially if you had your boat with you, and a really nice place to stay for the gathering and five days in Grand Key/Cay is really high on my To-Do List.

Our daughter is getting married sometime in the end of June and we will be completely so a crossing for us is just not in the cards for us this year. We would be interested in a a couple of trips but the boss is insistent that we stay in a pet friendly place so I will have to make those arrangements depending on what is chosen.
Even though it's local for us, I would also propose that the scallop trip be considered during this year's Red Snapper season. Gags open June first so it would be a good trip for filling the freezer and providing one hell of a fish fry. |
I believe Homosassa and Steinhatchee are the two locales that have hotels w/docks and scallops. Not sure on offshore fishing/spearing. I think Hernando Beach and Crystal River have limited options - maybe Vezo can comment on HB. I’d be happy to scout’em if any interest.

Got a chance to check out Bushwacker’s and Arden’s Dreamseeker blog on the recent trip to Andros via West End and the Berry Islands. Looks like they docked at old Bahama Bay and Lucaya overnight after they cleared customs. Will the mothership make a showing this summer???

Talk to river palm… They seem to be booked on all of their waterfront cottages every weekend. Apparently because of Covid all of last year‘s bookings are rescheduled for this year. I will call the general manager who does the large party bookings to see if there’s any cancellations this week. So, anyone got a Plan B?

After some updates to the Master Angler and transporting to Hernando Beach for opening day of Grouper last June, I was disappointed to learn the water temps were already high enough to send the gags further offshore. My 70 gallon tank and old two stroke they were basically out of range. Sucked. Boat sat all summer under the rear porch. Had hoped to sell it to my sister in NJ, and go bigger. With the current State of the Union, I have cancelled those plans, remembering what happened back in ‘08 thru ‘10, with $4/gal on land.
That said I am still in for traveling Fla to attend a couple of gatherings. Is MacRae’s worthy of a phone call? Where has Terry and Marsha been? Haven’t spoken to them in a long time. Hope all is well. Last year, from what I was able to gather, the scallop season was not very impressive. Not sure if anyone is interested in a Hernando Beach/Weeki Wachee area gathering. I kind of felt that the best gathering I would have liked to attend seemed to be Longport.?. Vezo |
What/where was the place we were set to go to last Spring right when COVID started closing things down? Maybe up by Melbourne, NoBones was going to cruise his SeaFari down? How about that place?

Google SFIO / Agrokings folks. Not anything of note today with my homework. I'm watching closely. |

I believe we have a winner....
thanks bumpdraft! I just spoke to Kyle. He is wide open (12 rooms and one 2 bedroom 2 bath house) for the end of April (after tax time but before Mother's Day)! $145 a night plus a 10% discount. I am thinking 4/29-5/2. Thoughts??

Extended Abaco Plans....
I have found multiple waterfront houses with docks in Hope Town 100 miles south of Grand Cay to stay for a week including the Cheeseburger Party!!! They will book up fast. Interested??

Seems like we talked about this May 1 date before. Had something to do with groupa on the east coast.

Disregard.... Just looked and the young one doesn't get out of school until June 8th and then a wedding.... Ugggggg. |
Moose, I am getting pushback from my family on the Sebastian trip also.... But, I am all in for the Bahamas trips - both Grand Cay and the extended Green Turtle / Hope Town trip. Confidence is still high for Grand Cay (Potentially 4-5 boats) and 2-3 boats for the extended run to Green Turtle Cay / Hope Town / Man O War Cay.

Patti & I are going to Disney World !
