Boat Cover Suggestions

Guys,

I’m looking for a boat cover. I’ve used canopies (rain destroys them). I used a tarp lasted 6 months (barely). I want to build a carport but not in a position to afford that at the moment. I figured I’d buy a decent cover and get a few years out of it. I want to get sun and rain off of it.

Got any suggestions for something like my Seafari 25 Amazon is great but open to anything.

I’ve got one of these on my 20 Seafari while I wait to restore it. It’s been out in the sun for 3 years and is still in tact but is starting to dry out. https://vortexdirect.com/cuddy-cabin.html

Are you looking for something temporary that can be taken on and off easily or something semi-permanent that can be set up and the boat worked on underneath?

I started with one of those regular duty blue tarps and it lasted six months. Then I got serious and built my 28x16 boat shed out of 2x4's and covered it with shrinkwrap. The wrap has been very durable for close to three years now. A branch blown out of a tree will penetrate, but a quick patch of the shrinkwrap tape and it is good as new. The tape does not come off.

Take a look at Taylor Made.

Yeah I saw that. I have plans for a boat port but it’s pretty pricey here. I have to work where it is for now but I have a fully permitted 30x100 structure to build in backyard. It was a permitted building (greenhouse) I can build anything on that footprint no permits required.

So I will build a workshop and boat port there… rather than build something to tear down and build again. In the meanwhile I need a cover to keep sun and rain off

What Capt Chuck says...nice light durable covers...for the money they are worth it. if you want the best then you will have to get one custom made..have one for my 20 Sceptre great cover made out of sunbrella heavy as heck but it’s real nice.

I’ve had good luck with Budge boat covers . They have many universal styles. Reasonable priced and also available thru Amazon

i was looking at those Budges and taylormades. Free shipping is a big deal. shipping can cost half or more of the cover's price.

i need to figure out which one's gonna fit my boat as returning it is really hard if not cost prohibitive.

i've had success with empire bimini tops. but the shipping is high on the covers.

Only if it works lol...I’ve got two of them on boats right now and for the money they are a decent cover...the nylon straps Will rot out but you can jury rig some bungies in place...finding a cover for a 25 might be difficult.

Try calling or email I used one for a 25’ cc due to the bracket a bit big? But covers the motor and the winch protecting it from the intense sun.just looked they have 4 grades of covers for22-25’ I/o from like $125(2yr warranty) to $410 with 5 yr warranty. Had mine tear after 2 1/2 yrs and replace N/C and no hassle other than cutting the tag off old cover and sending it to them. Think it was about a week -10 day turn around including the snail mail to them,
