Re: question on 1977 20ft seacraft
el pescador,
I'm aware of two different stringer set-ups in the 20's. One version, like in my 1971 model had four individual stringers. Other boats had two rather wide stringers. If the floor feels solid throughout, I somewhat doubt that the stringers have any problems. In addition, I'm not sure how you could verify that without pulling up the floor. Although there were several problem spots on my floor, when the floor was removed, all four stringers looked about six months old - this, in a 1971 boat. These will now be raised to create a better-bailing-boat, as they all sat a bit low in the water. Let me rephrase: they all sat WAY TOO LOW in the water. |

Pescador,
Where are you in TX? I have some experience with the SeaCraft 20. I rebuilt the transom in my 20, and I'll be happy to look at a boat with you. I'm in Austin. Let me know... |
