infamous seacraft ride
Last nite I went for a ride on my brother inlaws new steiger craft 26 pilothouse. It was a little breezy and the water wasn't exactly glass. One of the first things I noticed or (felt) was each wave pounding the hull. Bang Bang Bang..All I could think of was "reverse chine hull". I can bet that my 20' sefari would have delivered a superior ride or should I say "cushioned ride". And by coincidence I have a dentists appt today to replace a filling. Should I bill my bro-inlaw ???

Re: infamous seacraft ride
Steigercrafts are known to have a not so good ride. The design of their hull is very shallow and dated...

Re: infamous seacraft ride
Catman, you're right about the ride. I have a 1977 18 foot Super Fisherman, and I'm willing to bet it will out run any other brand of 18 footer out there. New or old. The Potter hull design is awesome!! I live in Central Fl., and it can get mighty rough offshore. The funny thing is I'm usually faster into the port than most of the CC's before the storm. I repowered with a new Johnson 150, so I can scoot pretty good. Oh, and by the way, I would bill him for sure!! That's just plain abuse.
