Splashed boat, Finally!
Finally got my 1970CC wet for the first time yesterday. The shakedown cruise was a resounding success thanks to all the mechanical help from my friend Pat. He posted some pictures at boatzone. I think the steering box will have to be replaced and the binnacle, but that's minor stuff at this point. I may learn to live with the I/O setup after all. She topped out at 27, but the rpm count is unconfirmed because I think the tach needs replacing too. Again minor. Can't wait to start fishing off of her. Now if it would quit raning for a few days around here.

Re: Splashed boat, Finally!
Here's some pics from the shakedown run, went pretty well, one small oil leak(hopefully I got that fixed today!), and we got some issues with the shifter, but I'm on it I certainly have learned more about sterndrive theory than I ever wanted to know, but I'll add it to the library of stuff in my head, and it's there for anyone to pick at http://www.imagestation.com/picture/...e/fbdf89a6.jpg

I bought her in Stevensonville, MD from a guy who actually lives in Fairfax, VA. He bought it out of Miami. He was the one that had it painted (imron) and put in the T top. It used to be mutard yellow. He also put in a leaning post but it is too big for the boat. Most of our work has been on teh engine and the sterndrive. Plenty there to do. Bruce |
