Flounder-

There should be a spot where you screw on a lifting eye.....Yamaha and most others use one type of eye...Honda and a couple of others use something slightly different.

Joe from NJ should be able to give specifics. I think he owns or works at a dealership.

Good luck.

flounder,
You need to borrow someones lifting eye. Depending on the type of eye it either screws into the three holes you described or threads down the center of the flywheel above the flywheel nut. Either way you will need to find the lift eye from a mechanic, its a special tool they usually buy from Mac, snap-on or straight from the engine manufacturer.

I'm going to change from a single 225 opti to twins. Why are taking off your 150's. I need info on the difference between Merc's and Yamaha's

Mike G I am removing the 150 opti to redo the transome its rotted. I plan on closing it off completely and using a hermco bracket purely based on the statements made on this site sadly enough the motors are not removed yet but soon,if you read through this site you will see many statements/debates on twin vs single good luck.
