Where to get a flywheel puller / lift ring???

Anyone have a clue as to where to get a flywheel puller / lift ring to lift engines with a hoist? I never expected the hoist to be the easy part buy I have one of those.... Where to get a flywheel puller with a lift ring - and are they universal between engine manufacturers....

Thanks,

John

Bought both for my Mercury from Merc dealer. Expensive about $35 for ring and $70 for puller but they are really needed. I don't know if they are universal but looking at mine I would guess not. Take a look at the top of your flywheel where both attach and I'll bring mine to the MSBA meeting for you to look at. If I get my engine back on and running before you need them, you can borrow them.

John try NAPA or Auto Zone or Sears for the flywheel puller, I used one we had at work which was just a universal puller and worked great, good luck

Anyone else have a thought to where to buy the lift ring?

John, why you needin a lift ring? Is it for the Rude or the new Yammi?
On my Rude, a standard harmonic balancer puller works fine to pull the flywheel. To lift the engine off the boat, I use those 3 same holes you do for the puller, put washers on the bolts and run a piece of chain from bolt to bolt to bolt with 3-4 extra links in between each one.Grab your 3 chain loops and stick them in the hook of the hoist.
This is what I've always done, never a problem.
Just a thought.

Mercury Parts Express will sell ya the lift ring, I had to buy one for my 100 a few years ago, it was about $30. Don't know about other manufactures.
