Leaning post
Has anyone put a fiberglass leaning post/tackle locker in their boat over the standard four leg aluminum leaning post....I've seen several and like them (Spacemaker and Tower Power) but I'm concerned that they may be to big for the 23. The foot print is very much the same as a regular leaning post (aluminum) but they can look massive especially with the bid motor well that I have.

Re: Leaning post
Scott, With the big splash well its probably going to be to big but i like plenty of room. I was also wondering if your boat lets water in the deck drains with your twin engines. I have twin 1997 efi Mercury motors and I get alot of water in the deck drains and in the splash well. I think that i fixed the splash well with the "ping Pong" ball valve scuppers.

Re: Leaning post
Hi Blackwater
Thanks for the response. I feel the same way..... as I feel that with the motor well any drawers/tackle would be tough to use.....and on the same note it may be tough to get the cooler in and out from under the aluminum leaning post. What do you have on your boat?? Also I only have the single on the boat. Scott |
Re: Leaning post
Scott, I have one of those swivel box things on mine which I think is probably a little larger than the full rocket launcher/tackle thing and its not that bad. I will take a measuement on it if you would like. I was actually thinking about the same thing myself. Craig

Re: Leaning post
Thanks Craig
I had that same fish box/seat back thing when I got the boat. You might be right about the footprint of it (as far as the size). It was big. My problem is the motor well as that takes up about 20" of the cockpit |
