Tempo fuel/pump ball line

Would you believe all of my '87 Yamaha 115HP surging problems were due to faulty new Tempo fuel lines?

Yup, they suck! .... apparently they suck air under power.

New Yamie fuel line, no problems.

Tempo POS! ..... Nick

I had the same problem with my Mercury's only mine wouldn't hold fuel at idle. Every time I throttled up after a drift or prolonged idling the port engine wouldn't power up. A pair of factory Mercury bulbs and the problem was fixed. When I removed the the Tempo bulbs (I only had two trips on them) the check valves wouldn't even keep the fuel from draining out the "in" side.

If you would like to file a complant, here is their web site;

I did.

It's amazing how many headaches are caused by the fuel system on boats.

Nick, I'm glad it was only a fuel line and not something major.

I had that problem last spring(02), while over in the Canadian Gulf Islands, pump up the bulb and away I would go. When I got home I changed the water/fuel filter, making sure I had the ones with "O" ring looking gasket and have never had the problem again. Never thought of the bulb since it pumped up ok, although it feels soft sometimes, maybe the check valve not seating all the way? May be time for a new Mercury bulb.

Mine have stay'd tight as a tick even after sitting a few days since I put the new ones on.

Made a believer out of me.
