there are many different fuel tank and engine configurations out there. Even if you get a definite answer, I'd still splash the individual boat to determine where it should go. I've heard of as little as 45 gallon tanks and as large as 105. Similarly, some people have Honda 130's on their boats and some have MUCH lighter engines.

good luck-

When my father bought our 23, the water line at the transom had to be lowered since the boat no longer had twins on it. We left it in the water a week or so and let a slight scum line build up to get an idea as to where to lower the line to. Capt. Brad's idea of a grease pencil is a good one.

Definitely strike the waterline with a grease pencil first.....nothing looks worse on a boat than waterline that is way too high.

Another hint for when you mask off the waterline. Affix the bitter end of the tape to either end of the boat....and then walk down the length of the boat while unrolling the tape. Once you're at the other end of the boat and have sufficient tape unrolled, cut/rip the tape, pull it taught, make sure the waterline is level and then rub the entire length onto the hull. The edge of the tape acts as a straight edge and assures a straight line)

Too many people make the mistake of unrolling & applying about 3 feet of masking tape at a time. Usually, it results in a waterline that is wavy and not level.

Good luck.

Good "?" Pescador ! I've wondered the same. I kinda like the clean look of it w/o. I also like the piercing look it gave before.Where would I mark it on the hull w/ the boat in the water ? "s above ? Take a grease pencil & make some marks?
