Seacraft 25

Can anyone give some honest, good advice on the new Seacraft 25's. I've been looking high and low and I cannot find even one review or performance data for that matter. I scheuled for a Seatrial/Delivery on the 17th of May.

The price for the boat is 61K, with Twin Merc 150 Optimax's, Customer Loadmaster Included, and all the usual seacraft standard options. I am also getting the Cost Guard Package, Anchor, and a 2+2 engine warranty included in the deal.

Nice boat and sounds like a nice price BUT check out a thread on The Hull Truth. Sounds like a couple of the newer boats are having some trouble with how the glass was laid up. Sounded like there was some premature stress cracks and voids in the glasswork on some new boats. You might want to poke around over there, if you haven’t already, and ask those guys some questions.

don't let the guys on the hull truth scare you. i have a 2001 23 seacraft and love it--no problems with the boat from a quality or manufacturing standpoint. Some people claim the new ones aren't build worth a damn but few if any of them actuallly own one. Every manufacturer of every product imaginable occasionally builds a lemon. I am very happy with the new seacraft that I actually own.

I LIVE IN BROWARD COUNTY FL. AND GO TO OUTDOOR WORLD 1 TO 2 TIMES A MONTH. THEY ALWAYS HAVE 25’ SEACRAFTS THERE AND I HAVE BEEN IN MAYBE 10 OF THEM IN THE LAST 2 YEARS (JUST LOOKING) I HAVE A 23 THAT I HAVE BEEN RE DOING FOR THE LAST YEAR. I GO JUST TO PICK THROUGH THE NEW ONES TO INCORPORATE NEW IDEAS FOR MY BOAT PROJECT. I HAVEN’T SEEN ANY REAL PROBLEMS IN ANY OF THE BOATS I HAVE LOOKED AT. YOU MIGHT SEE LITTLE THINGS LIKE SMALL GEL COAT PROBLEMS (DIME SIZE BUBBLE BETWEEN THE GEL COAT AND THE GLASS) OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT BUT FOR THE MOST PART THEY SEEM TO BE MADE PRETTY GOOD. I KNOW THEY SURE LOOK GOOD. I HAVEN’T HEARD OF ANY REAL PROBLEMS EITHER. FOR THE MOST PART THE SEACRAFT IS MADE PRETTY GOOD USING THE NEW TECHNOLOGY OF TODAY’S MATERIALS AND THE DESIGN THAT HAS PROVEN ITSELF OVER 30 + YEARS OF TIME. I DON’T THINK THERE IS A BETTER QUALITY NEW BOAT MADE WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE REGULATOR AND MAYBE THE CONTENDER. ALL BOAT MANUFACTURERS WILL HAVE SOME LITTLE MOLD TO GEL COAT PROBLEMS DUE TO THE NATURE OF ITS METHOD OF CONSTRUCTION. I HAVE SEEN MANY BOATS SET UP LIKE YOURS WITH 2 150’S AND HAVEN’T HEARD FROM ANYONE THAT IT IS UNDERPOWERED. IN FACT IF I WERE GOING TO BUY A NEW 25 I WOULD CHOOSE THE SAME POWER PACK AS YOURS MAYBE WITH THE YAMAHA THOUGH. THE SEACRAFT ALWAYS TURNS HEADS AND IF YOU EVER DECIDE TO SELL IT YOUR PHONE WILL NOT STOP RINGING. I ALSO BOUGHT THE LOADMASTER TRAILER FOR MY BOAT IT IS THE SECOND LOADMASTER TRAILER I HAVE OWNED AND THEY ARE GREAT.
