Your thoughts on a 76 23' center console?
 

I want to buy a SeaCraft. Period. Been looking at restored 20' Bertram Moppies (converted to CC with bracket) and some Parker 21' CCs, but I want the 23' SeaCraft.

I've found a 1976 model that's been "professionally restored" and wondered what, if anything, folks could share some insight on regarding the pros and cons of that boat.

Just found this site about 1 hour ago and am very much impressed with the amount that folks have contributed. This only helps confirm that there must honestly be something to the love folks show their SeaCrafts.

Hard to say without details. Pros and cons are always measured in relation to price. [img]images/icons/smile.gif[/img]

No innate reason why a professional restoration is not good, however sometimes they don't go the "extra mile" to ensure that something is done as well as possible. It is all a matter of the reputation of the restorer and the price of the boat. Best bet is to have it surveyed.

Dean, We need more info. Start with the price and power first. Then go into the paint/deck/transom/fuel/wiring/electronics or any other features that might be useful. A recently restored '74 with a new 225 'Rude could go for 30k with a trailer and t-top. One that had cosmetic "restoration", a compass, vhf and 8 year old rebuilt yamaha 225, might be overpirced at 13k. Depending on how you reply to my questions, will depend on the quality of your replys on this board. Welcome and good shopping!
