I apologize for the site being in a "down" condition for the end of last week.

I thought I would share with you what happened.

The domain name "www.classicseacraft.com" is "rented" through a Domain Name hosting service. So I pay for that, along with space for all the info on a server at a seperate location. Very confusing.

None the less. A company sent me a letter telling me our Domain name "rental" was coming to an end and I had to renew it to keep it active. So I did.

That was my first mistake.

It turns out is was a BS letter and it was not for a renewal, rather a "transfer" (I should hav read the fine print). So the name was transfered from one Domain name host to another.

Well. when they transfered locations they DELETED all of the pertainant info on where the site was located, end result being.. no ClassicSeacraft.com.

So to make a really long story short, I was slammed, much like the phone companies do to unsuspecting people. I literally, needlessly paid $ for a bunch of fools to pull the plug on our site.

Hey Trayder sounds like you got the double jam...I don't know about others but I wouldn't mind throwing you some duckets to ease the financial burden of keeping this information machine running cherry. Let me know and thanks again for all your hard work.

I, like squidrig, would not be opposed to a small membership fee.

Trayder - that stinks... There has been several scams like that going around. I get a few a week. Wait until you get the mailings at home and via e-mail too...

Guys-

Tx for the offers but by no means do I want any $. You guys make the site what it is. The forum is the bulk of that and I realy do little with that. You guys wrote the book for the forum. No, I will not be paying you for your hard work, hehe

The purpose of my post was to alert any of you with web-sites to be aware. Plus I figure you all were wondering where the site was for the day.

Thanks for the offers
Jason
