Run on one engine.

REPETE, Can you run your 23' with the twin 150's on one engine. I also am thinking about bracketing. Thanks Tony

TonyS...I've twin 140 Johnson VRO's on a bracket ('82 23'cc) and have run the boat at about 8 knots (3000rpm's) on one of the engine.

squidrig thanks for your info. What I should of said, ( could you plane on one engine ). Do you think the boat would plane on one if they were twin 200's. The point is too know I can run on one engine is peace of mind. (just thinking if I bracket, what power to use.)

Re: Run on one engine.

Tony S, Don't worry about it. I had twin yamaha 130's with 13x19" props and I could get on plain and run about 22 kts at 4200 rpm on one motor. Now I have twin 115hp suzuki 4 strokes. I can plain on one motor but it isn't happy. I get about 14kts max with tabs down. You should have no problem with the 150's or above as long as you are not seriously overpropped. By the way, these #'s are for transom mounted motors on a 23' CC.
