Floats in a foot of water

I was casting for bait today and drifted in to a foot of water, 12 to 13 inches I thought Id be pushing for sure. When I closed the transom and put a positive floatation bracket, the bracket broUght the stern up 1 1/2 inches. Last year when I had the original livewell and no bracket 16 to 18 inches was about it and it was time to jump off and push. Not bad for a deep V boat.RS.

HA REAL SMOKER
THE ½ FOOT LESS WATER CAN MAKE A REAL DIFFERENCE DOWN THERE IN THE KEYS WHEN YOU ARE ON THE FLATS OR LOOKING FOR BAIT.
HA WHEN DOES THE MUTTONS START TO REALLY SHOP UP DOWN THERE? I WANT TO TAKE A TRIP OR TWO TO KEY WEST AND FISH FOR THEM THIS YEAR.
