Rhody, I believe it was 1988.

JohnB, you have an '88 right?

Scott Scott M, Thanks for the reply. If 88 was the last year, Tracker dropped the model shortly after the acquision of SeaCraft (7/10/1987). I wonder who has the last one produced ?

My boat is a Tracker 85. I have never seen one newer than 89. I think Tarpon Tom might have an 88 but I am not sure.

John B If the info on this site is correct your beautiful 85 Sceptre is a CSY not a Tracker. This is assuming tracker bought SeaCraft in 87. ??

Re: The Last Sceptre

Rhody,
Duuuhhhhhh, I was looking at the title of my other boat,
The SeaCraft is a 88, and that is the latest model Sceptre
I have seen too date.
The title says 88, and it has a tracker ensignia on the dash gauges.
The hull Id ends with ....88, so I am to assume it is a 1988 model.
Who knows, it's a great boat. I have replaced all the fittings, hoses,
and I'm starting on the electrical, so it should be better than new when
done. Those are the only things that I have seen that degraded in
the product line over the years. I was out on a 89 cobia 231 yesterday,
and that was and is a great boat too. The fittings and rigging were
all original, and it is still looking and working great. Personally, I
think the mid 80's cobias and seacrafts were some of the best built
boats ever in this size, and are great values if you can find one with
a fresh engine on it. 10-20K for a boat that would sell for 50-70 now.

JohnB Thanks for the clarification. Can't agree more. Solid middle age hull + young engine = good value.
