Billybob or other Bunk Trailer owners

On which chine (or planing surface) do you position the bunks? When I pulled my boat back from Michigan, I moved the bunks way out to catch the outermost step. I was thinking of moving them in one step? Where do you guys have yours set?

Thanks,

Rich

I MOVED MINE IN LIKE YOU ARE THINKING OF DOING. THE REASON WAS WHEN I HAVE SOMEONE PICK UP THE BOAT WITH A BOAT FORK LIFT THEY LIKE TO USE THE OUTER MOST FLAT SURFACE. THEY CAN PICK IT UP EASILY BECAUSE THE FORKS WILL SLIDE IN WITH OUT HITTING ANY PART OF THE TRAILER.

I have mine just outboard of the outermost "step", practically up against it.Towmaster claimed to set the bunks up specifically for your hull, and when it arrived thats where they were.It seems like an ideal spot to me, it centers the boat perfectly when hauling out.It also keeps the boat a little lower on the trailer than if you were to use an inner step, and I'd rather have my boat sitting lower and wider on my trailer.

Towmaster said the same thing to me, however when I put the boat on the trailer the first time the bunks were under the middle(second)step. I thought at the time, it would be best to move them out farther and allow the boat to sit lower on the trailer. Safer for the long haul. The Towmaster bunks are massive compared to others I have seen.

Thanks,

Rich

Loadmaster set my trailer up. They put the bunks under the stringers, which made good sense to me. The previous trailer, which I believe was the original, had them inboard 1 chine. The new setup just seems more logical to me.

Continental set mine up on the middle. However, I like billybob's setup as mine tipped to one side when one of the straps came loose. Low profile helps trailering and launch/retrieve.

I WENT TO OUTDOOR WORLD HERE IN FT. LAUDERDALE FL. OF FRIDAY AND LOOKED AT 10 SEACRAFT FROM 23 TO 32 ' ALL HAD THE BOAT RESTING ON THE TRAILERS INBOARD OF THAT LAST STEP.
