23 cc transom engine cowling
Does anybody know where I can find one of these open transom engine covers for my 23? I know they're available for the 32 and I've seen 23's with them on tv, but the factory said they don't make them anymore. Anybody have any ideas?

Re: 23 cc transom engine cowling
I DID SEE SOME OF THOSE SHROUDS ON THE INTERNET ABOUT A YEAR AGO BUT I CAN’T REMEMBER WHERE IT WAS. IT IS A AFTER MARKET SHROUD THAT IS MORE LIKE A BIG CUTTING BOARD THAT FITS FROM ONE SIDE TO THE OTHER OVER THE ENGINES. I PERSONALLY NEVER LIKED THOSE THINGS. I HAVE FISHED OUT OF A 27’ CONCH DOWN IN KEY WEST AND IT WAS MORE OF A HINDRANCE FISHING OUT OF THE BACK OF THE BOAT THAN A HELP.

Edey and Duff in massachusetts makes or buys a shroud for the 27' conch center console. Try them out... http://www.edeyandduff.com/
give it a shot, there is a pic of a conch with the shroud on the website, it may fit or be adaptable to a 23 seacraft. Good luck. |

You could try to fabricate you own using fiberglass resin and fabric. You can get some nice contours and shapes using fleece pulled tight across a frame. Just be sure to wax any part of the frame you don’t want to be part of the piece. The method is shown here: http://www.rtol.net/scornell/HowTo.htm
